Brake Caliper Paint

I Was thinking about purchasing a kit to paint my brake calipers - only to keep them from rusting (as they have on many of my older cars). If I don't paint them on my GT will they rust? (I'm won't do it if it's only for a visual modification although it does look cool on some cars).
