body kits junk or what?
body kits junk or what?
ok im wanting to add a body kit to my 2006 mustang gt( front ,rear and sides)i told a buddy of mine about this , he has worked in a body shop his whole life and currently for the last 5 years has run his own body shop. he does a very good business and i have had him paint my vehicles before and i was very impressed with his time and detail put into the vehicles he's done for me. but he told me that he has put body kits on other vehicles before even a mustang and that the aftermaket body kits don't fit right! that they are pretty much junk when trying to get them to line up with the contours and lines of the body, that you basically have to fight, twist ,cut, modify, the car or the parts to get them to look right! and then if you're not happy with the way they look on the car if you return them they hit you with restocking fees etc... if they even take them back? so any input would be greatley appreciated
I have the street scene kit. Check out my blog (click on link in my signature). Absolutely no issues. Minimal prep work before painting and a perfect fit. The body shop that painted the parts couldn't get over how great the quality/fit was.

At one time those comments would have been correct. Today I would bet that most new body kits have good fit and finish - especially if they are eurathane - stay away from fiberglass kits. The Street Scene and Stillen kits are all eurathane - all have very good fit and finish.
Let me know if I can help you out.

If you want to go with a Shelby, or CS front end by Ford you will have no issues. Ford makes them and they will fit perfect. Also if you go with a Roush or Saleen front end you will have no issues. Those are the only ones I'm familliar with.
