I'd really like to get a Silver 05 or 06, but the contrast of the black surround area of the headlight assembly just bugs me. Anybody spent enough time staring at their new '05 able to tell if this can be disassembled and painted body color like the CDC SEMA car, or is it horribly complicated necessitating a new assembly?

I have to disagree since so many of the cars at SEMA had the same thing and what would be the point in raplacing a part that only needs to be painted?
From what I've seen in person, it doesn't look like it's going to be as difficult as we first thought.
I'll let you know when mine comes in.

If you take a close look at the CDC cars headlight buckets they have been replaced by CDC and the turn signal is now in the bucket area. But the look is very hot it makes it fit the retro style better!

I'm going to order that chin spoiler as soon as its available. Looks like factory GT grill and lights will still work.

Wow. Sharp eye, Cobramaxx. If it wasn't for any extreme close-up on Brad's SEMA page I never would have believed it.

I did this with wy old car i painted the bezels. No joke but you have to stick the headlight into the oven at 400 degrees for 10min for the glue holding the clear cover up so you can pull it apart. The you have to dis-assemble the headlight and paint it and put it back together.

The bucket was made by CDC. Yes they did make the turn signals in the bucket and they act just like sequential taillights. But they also used a smaller diameter headlight, and below the center there is another small turn signal so people in front of you know that you are turning too. I talked to CDC a week ago about the headlights and when they would be available. Unlike their other products, the headlights will take a little time to get ready for production. So you won't be able to order them right now, but they said they will offer them.
