I was thinking about doing the same exact thing to my Mustang when I buy it. I'd also black out the area between the tail lights where the faux-gas cap is.

A touch like that really helps the taillights stand out.

I personally wouldn't go for chrome, but it would look OK in my books

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
Not sure how it would look if I get the LeMans stripes though.
It would be a great way to get rid of the fake gas cap.
As much as I like the look, it's just WAY too big.
I would keep it if it was just smaller.

Great idea. I think it really helps set the taillights off!

:notnice: I thought the second picture was the mod and thought it looked better......... heh, so I'm going to say no. The black just makes it look cheap.

Very nice mod. I also think that the area between the taillights is just *begging* for a black out treatment. That would really complete the look.

Black or maybe matching the color of the paint?

That looks sharp!

Fine. Just so they hurry up and do it so I can get a set for mine when it gets in.
Anybody listening? Go ahead. Take my idea.
All I ask in return is recognition and a FREE set!

Definately like it. Just might have to give that a try. I just happen to have some black vinyl right next to me

Just did mine. Used 1/4" black tape. My car is Torch Red so it made a very nice subtle difference. Cost $4 & half an hour to do.

Does this really look good? Could ya send a couple o' pics down the line, cause I'm a little skeptical that this would look good. I mean I like the idea of the black lines but the tape sounds a bit cheap.

Looks just like the choped pix. You have to be right on top of the lens & looking to see if it is taped to notice. From 5' you can't tell.

finally, a "classy" mod. Great idea, I wonder if masking of the lights and using a plastic paint like the Krylon would be a long term mod? This is really a simple and cheap way to really improve the looks. Keep these coming!

Looks something like this? I remember seeing this in some SEMA posts. The back panel may look better flat, more like a 69 Mach hood. It looks too shiny here.
