Looks just like the choped pix. You have to be right on top of the lens & looking to see if it is taped to notice. From 5' you can't tell.

Paging PONY XPRESS - can you post an up close pic of one of your tail lights to show where the tape stops? I was just about to do this mod, but wasn't sure whether to take the tape all the way to the top and bottom of the housing, or cut it off at the top and bottom of the panels. Thanks!

Well, I just got an email from Barry at NinoSport who had said they were going to make the tail light bezels, but now they've back out.
Too bad. Looks like I'll have to try to find someone else who wants to make some money.

I have the black out kit from ninosport and plan to paint the other areas with flat black paint. I might know of a place to make the chrome like ones for me but then how many would I sell? Start up cost might be outa site. I'll check it out Monday.

Glad your having fun with "Norma Jean"
I did the vertical slots first, top to bottom, then I did the perimeter. Trim excess. You can hardly see the edges.
Let me know if you still need pics.

oh man that looks great! my mustang is white also. it really does set off the taillights. I wonder if UPR products would be interested in making some chrome overlays for our mustangs....hmmmm.

I am waiting for someone to come out with a ribbed panel similar to the ones that went between the taillites on the 67 mustangs, that would look pretty sharp on certain colored cars, and would make the flat panel there look a bit nicer.
btw, I like the taillite black seperation

Thanks Frank, that's the info I was looking for. This thread didn't mention the perimeter of the housing, only the vertical strips. I'll give it a shot - Thanks!

Where are you guys getting/finding black electrical/vinyl tape in 1/4 and 1/2 inch widths!? I've been to Lowes, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart and they only have 3/4 inch width sizes
Any info would greatly be appreciated, Thx!

There was something about the tail lights that bugged me, now I know what it was! Too much red. Your mod brings it closer to the 60's look somehow. Wasn't there more of a separation between the 3 lenses in the 60's cars?

When you guys are done with the lens mod, do the tail lamp mod in my sig. Gives you 3 blinkers & 3 brake lights per side. Easy, cheap & makes a big difference in appearance & safety.
