Sorry for the slow reply. I ordered the emblem from a 60's Mustang place (can't recall which one) and I specifically ordered a "grille emblem" but of course when it showed up it was a "fender emblem". I had to make up some bracketry to attach it because the pins were to short to reach through the slats in the grille, but it worked out good in the end.

I think I figured out what I'm doing. A street scenes speed grille that removes the pony keeps the fogs and is powdercoated black. It won't look 100% stock but it'll be subdued enough in look with the powdercoating and somehwat egg cratey hole pattern. Then I'll bolt on a pony emblem like the one above and be laughing, looks like that's what they did on the Downs Ford Mach 1 and I think it looks great!

Never liked that SSE grille. The screen looks cheap, but that's just my opinion. That's why I want a grille that looks like the OE pattern & style.

The pics on the Downs Ford car look pretty good to me. Worst case I'll have a $200 grille I'll be able to Ebay pretty easily.
