Talking OK, time to spew some pictures

All this time I thought the shop was going to email me the pics, but it turns out when they said they'd "send" the pics, they meant they'd post them to a website I could log into to watch the progress. I'm...words...es...caping me... right now...! Just today I saw all of this progress:

Prep - 8/3/2011

Silver down/ Laying out the stripes - 8/4/2011

Masking off the stripes - 8/5 - 8/8/2011

This is the point I went down to the shop in person to OK the stripes as they were laid

This is where I thought the updates ended today. Then I logged into their site tonight and was greeted with this:

Spraying Tungsten - 8/8/2011

Shop tells me it'll be done this week, maybe as early as tomorrow! It's been in the shop a grand total of 3 weeks as of today, but it feels like it's been 2 months. Man, I miss my car...

As it turns out I won't be able to pick it up until Friday, but it's my fault because of my work schedule. So I called them up this morning to let them know they've got a couple extra days. They said that's fine and it works out because their painter was out sick yesterday, but they said they'd be painting and clearing the bumpers today, and uploaded some more pics.

Speaking of which, more picture mongerin' time!

Man, these guys are goin all out. I spec'd they go over and under the spoiler, meaning paint the decklid. This is the kind of attention to detail they're doing:

And yes, even though I'm keeping the chin spoiler, they painted the bottom of the front bumper (see first pic)

As far as the gloss goes, I'm paying them a little extra to buff the whole car out, so I'm assuming that's going to get a lot more shiny before I pick it up.

BTW Wade, I don't know if they blended the front fenders or not, but from the pics taken outside, it looks like the hood is a **** near perfect match to the fenders. I didn't see them mask it off, but they did prep it

The hood and fenders look like a perfect match from your pics. The hood seems to line up better as well. I will have to see how the gloss black on the rear facia looks on your car when it's finished. I have been toying with the idea of doing that on my covers too. Your car is going to look so awesome, it will be so worth the wait. I still have a few more pieces to get for my car, but after I get them I will have to decide if I still want to 2 tone the car or stripe it.

Yeah the rear fascia was an accident, they weren't supposed to clear it. No biggie, As long as it's black.

Two tone vs stripes, that's a tough decision. Your blackout on the hood is really unique. Lots of people do stripes. Then again, lots of people do stripes because it looks really good. I ain't gonna lie, painted stripes ain't cheap.

Thanks. I've been working on this look for a long time. when you count the planning, saving, and then the actual work, it's been ~2 years. really 5 if you count deciding on stripes and the hood back in '06. The way I see it, if you're going to put this much time and money into the car, you're probably only going to do it once. Make it your masterpiece.

Aaand here it is. I promise better pics when the weather clears and I can go find a good backdrop.

Keep in mind, these pictures are not in any way enhanced. The paint is that shiny

Very nice! Can you take more pics of the black on the rear cover?

Wade, sorry I took forever, but I literally only got a chance to get more pics of the rear of the car just the other day. I hope this shot gives you a good enough idea of how it looks. Honestly it's so dark I can't see it most of the time, so I had to really brighten the photo.

And just because I'm a picture *****

Not out of the woods yet

This thread isn't dead yet by the way. I still have these items to do:

<in order of priority>

1) Hood pins --> hood flutters at high speed
2) Lower intake grille -->Bugs fly into radiator at any speed
-billet "front" grille purchased and cut to shape
-need to get mesh to attach the billet grille to
-need a way to attach grilles to bumper (I have an idea)
3) Put Shelby grille on backside of reverse scoop
4) Tuck fenders in closer to hood
5) drainage for hood -->it's a swimming pool after it rains
6) finish the underside of the hood
-paint black
-trim any holes I had to cut for clearance

By the way, here's an idea of how long its been since I updated this thread:

MY 90 DAY CAR WAX PROBATION ENDS NEXT WEEK!!!

I really like what you've done with the front end. What kind of spoiler is that on the chin? And what kind of hood?
