Trunk Blackout - Cost to paint?

I currently have an Ebay magnetic trunk blackout on my GT. I really like the way it looks, but it's very hard keeping the matte material clean. It seems like dirt wants to stick to it for some reason, maybe because it's rougher than paint.

For those of you who took the plunge and had the trunk panel painted black: how much did it run you? I'm assuming that a shop wouldn't have to paint the entire trunk, just the center section, correct? If you could post pictures of the finished product and tell how much it ran you that would be great.

Got mine painted along with a rear 1/4 panel dent for $300. Shouldn't cost too much more than $150.

Did you do a matte black or gloss black? I'm sure the price really wouldn't be affected one way or another, I'm just curious as to what everyone prefers with paint.

In terms of reflection, satin falls somewhere between gloss and matte. As well, satin can usually be waxed, while matte and wax are a definite PITA.

does anyone have experience with this. because i want to flat black my hood, but am afraid with waxing. i need somehting to have a less glossy appearance, that isnt ruined if i hit it with the wax applicator.

keep an eye on that thing- mines a year old and starting to crumble...be sure to pull and wax under once in a while- the chunks can stick pretty tight. mine was fine but over about a months time started shrinkingaround the emblem, went to pull it off and hard as a potato chip...guess the uv does something to it over time.
I'd go with the satin- I did my bumper bottoms/rockers,wing black basecoat with some special stuff from ppg that was supposed to 'flat out' the clearcoat like for bumpers and whatnot, but it still looks too glossy to me- eventually will be doing hood/lid, redoing the other stuff in satin- nex time no clearcoat, just a satin urethane and call it a day...

Have you daealt with a true satin before? i am concerned with issues being caused by hitting this type of paint with wax. if i can wax it and maintain a less than gloss color i would be happy. let me know what you think. doing some research but i want to get my foose hood first
