....

I don't know which thread it was since there seems to be an endless amount of shaker threads. I believe it was adrenalin and another member talking about how the put washers in to elevate the front end of the scoop about a 1/4 of an inch.

After looking at pics of your scoop I have to say I agree that it sits fine where it is.

Here's what they may have been talking about it's from thethrottlestop.com. It raises the scoop an 1" and cost $135. It looks horrible IMO.

Mine is raised a bit due to having to move the mount forward and inch to work with the trottle body spacer. You can go too high or you'll hit the hood, Mine just touches and I have use a little back to black on it when I open it for shows.

Unhappy ........

WAITING SUCKS....It looks like I won't be recieving my shaker hood till early next week. Moss Mustang says the reason it's taking so long is because it's shipped directly from CDC. I called CDC and they said it won't be on it's way till tomorrow.

I got mine done at the ford dealers body shop. The guys had some downtime so i slipped him some cash i had on me and he had it cut and smooth in 30 minutes. I took it home and installed the scoop. Im kinda pissed that I had to take off my throttle body spacer.

Anyone know of a mod to do so you can keep the TB Spacer?

Moss Mustang is shady. Here's the story. So as I told all of you before I thought I had gotten this great deal from them on the shaker hood for $745. Well it turns out that there online ordering system doesn't inlcude taxes. So today I see a charge for $782 on my card. I'm not as upset about the price as I am about the fact that I could have bought from JBA in San Diego for that price and had it installed already.

Leo, glad your getting it installed so soon. JBA should have no problem installing your Shaker.

If they'll let you hang out inside the shop, take some pics of the install.

Congrats Leo.......

BTW, when that shaker raiser was first released by The Throttlestop, they sold out instantly after advertising on machonemustang.org. Most people buffed and painted it with black textured enamel (like the shaker comes with) and then it didn't look too bad. It looks better on the factory Mach 1 cars than our cars. Just FYI.

Finally!!!!

Finally got it installed today at JBA. Here's some before, during, and after pics. Once I got home i noticed some small nicks on the front of the scoop so I'll be going back and see if they can change it out with a good one tomorrow. Also never mind the smudge on the left side of the hood that's from some stick plastic bag that got stuck on my hood on the way back.

Looks great, Leo! Appears that JBA did a great job on the install.

How long did they take?

The matte black finish isn't perfect on mine's either, not sure the extent of the nicks on your scoop. To swap out the scoop, they'll have to remove the whole shroud to access those nuts.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot... Welcome to the Shaker Club!

Tks. Well I took it in at nine and they called me at two. They said that it's because they shuffle different projects they just don't start one thing and finish it. Either way It came out good. Looks nice and centered and I'm happy. The nicks are on the top part of the front end. You can't see them untill your within 2-3ft of it. But still it just bugs me after paying so much. I'm sure they shouldn't have a problem since CDC will probably send them a replacement free of charge.

I think it was someone else on the site that said the lines on the top of his shaker were messed up and cdc sent him a replacement.

Are the rivets on your trim ring visible?? It's such an eyesore to me.

***off topic***
How do you make all the links to your mods show up on your post? I like that and think every member should do that. Its so helpful when your wondering what the various parts looke like installed.

That does look great! To change out the scoop, they'll have to get at those PITA throttle body bolts again... hope they do it for you (I had a big gouge in my scoop and couldn't stand it, so I got a replacement).

Those pictures are in our signature. Click on "Quick Links" toward the top right of the screen and then on "Edit Signature". Type some stuff to get it started, but then you can highlight something and link it directly to a picture in your Photobucket (like me), or to a page in your Photobucket (like Bill). You link something by highlighting it, then click on the link icon (the little world with the link in front of it). Then paste in the location of the picture or the page you want.

The rivets don't look bad to me, doesn't really stick out.

see pic

It would be nice if everyone's mod is linked to a pic, but for most all, it's too troublesome and time consuming, especially if they're installing it by themselves.

....

Went down to JBA today and they let me see the other shakers they had in stock. All of them had what I guess you would call minor defects. So I guess I'll just live with it.

After getting back home though I began looking at my shaker and noticed that it seems a little off on the right. I don't understand because the centerline in the shaker vent lines up perfectly with the centerline on the hood. Is it possible to correct this???

So far I have two yays and one nay on the look of the shaker. The yay's are from my wife and younger cousin while the nay comes from my grandmother. She says the car looked so nice without it. But the most important is that I'm happy with it so that's all that really matters.
