Best Brakes and Rotors for GT

Going to need to get new brakes and rotors(front only unless rear comes with a package)

I was thinking about EBC yellow stuff brake pads with EBC's front rotors
$433 at summit racing.com

Granatelli has all 4 rotors for $339 add that with all 4 EBC brakes and its $550 also at summitracing

Stage3 motorsports has a brake package from powerstop for 340 for all 4 rotors and pads

http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...tors-Pads.html

I am trying to decide which would be the best road to go down.

I could also try to score a brembo gt500 take off parts on ebay from 600-800 but that seems a bit too much and its only the front I would be getting.

Does anyone have experience in this or have tried some rotor/brake pad combos?

What are the best brands or can I find a different website with coupon codes or better overall price?

Thank you guys for all your help lately.

For road use I suggest that you buy some rotors from newtakeoffparts.com or turn your current ones and put on a set of Hawk HPS pads.

Drilled and slotted rotors are more cosmetic than anything.

I do take my car to the track and I thought slotted and drilled rotors are better keeping the rotor cool. Is this true or does that apply to something other than a regular gt?

The biggest bang for the buck is pads and stainless steel brake lines. If you track your car quite abit then think about rotors. JMO ~

Cross drilling lightens the mass slightly, but at the expense of thermal stability of the part. The sharp edges created by the drilling are bad for the rotor, even if chamfered. Cross-drilling gives cracks a point to propagate from, and therefore for track use, cross-drilling is not recommended. Think of a brake rotor as a large heatsink, similar to what is keeping your computer from overheating. Make the rotor lighter or smaller, and it can't absorb as much heat before reaching its limit - and the added air in the holes cools less than the reduced mass of the rotor would otherwise be able to absorb if it wasn't drilled.

So, short answer... for appearance, if you like it, go for it. But if it is seeing track duty, keep a close eye on the rotor for cracks. For full disclosure, we sell all types of rotors, and both our #05 and #10 cars both have cross-drilled rotors, but both cars need to do double-duty both on track and at shows, so we run the drilled / slotted rotors, but keep a very close eye on them. For a dedicated track car, we would not use them and I do not recommend them.
