I was surfing ebay and saw this hood and don't remember anyone talking about it. I think it is overpriced for non-functional.

What's the verdict? or :notnice:

(mods, I hope it is ok to post this ebay link)

very much thumbs down, 850 for the hood, 215 for shipping and THEN you have to have it finished

"This hood is not ready to paint. Some bodywork and fitting is necessary to achieve a finished product. It is recommended that the work is done by a professional body tech. It is necessary to clean the hood with a quality cleaner or degreaser to get rid of all mold releases before painting."
"The DCF500GT hood is a two-layer construction, finished top and bottom. Trimming of edges is a must. This is needed to clear the fender and cowl. The extent of trimming is up to your taste and vision. A rough line has been marked to show our recommendation. The mold line around the front scoop area has been sanded out, not finished. Primer and blocking is recommended to achieve a finer finish."

EXTREME RIPOFF!!

Finally someone made this hood. Just like the 68 GT500s. Now someone that will sell it for a reasonable price and one that is ready to paint and install would be great.

Way to expensive. Scoops and louvers are non functional.

Retro design is good though.

Id' have to stick with the RK Sport Cal Dream Ram Air hood

Even at $650 ready to install, I think that is a bit much for non functional. I can imagine how much a shop would charge to mask out the louvers and paint the "open slots" black.

I really like the look of this hood! If I could find a hood that looked exactly like this, with functional vents and extractors, ready to paint and install reasonably priced I'd buy it! Too bad this isn't it.

At first I was really disappointed. I had wanted the '68 Shelby look, but settled on the RKsport CA Dream hood. It's close, kinda a modern rendition of the '68. Just like the '05, a modern rendition of a classic. Then I saw that new hood and thought, oh crap, a perfect copy of the Shelby hood. The more I look at it, though, the less I like it. Non-functionality is a big minus, as are the caveats that "this is not ready to paint". What does that say of the quality? I've decided that the CA Dream hood fits the '05 style better anyway. It took very little work to have it ready for paint, it'll be functional when I get my CAI, and it looks like the concept car's hood. Mine was $700, free shipping direct from RKS. I had to pin it, but I'm very happy, and I can't go anywhere without people complimenting the car.

I feel the same way about the RK hood. I like how it's functional, but really don't like the height of the hood. The RK hood seems like it should have body mods to match the bulge of the hood. Flared wheel panels or something. Looks kind of funny with just having the hood so tall and the rest of the panels stock. This one is much better in that regard. This is pretty much the "look" that I want for a hood. Too bad it's nonfunctional, too expensive, and needs work after purchase.
