I have seen some discussion on the optional chrome bullets from the dealer but don't remember seeing any pictures. Please post if you have any information.

Yes, I do understand that there are a million other wheels out there that cost less and look better to many people. But these are the wheels I am asking about so let's focus people! :geek:

Go to the Ford website - http://www.fordracingparts.com/home/home.asp
Look in the 2005 Parts Catalog. Part # M-1007-T178C. Made specifically for
the 2005. It looks like the wheel that's in the sales brochure.

Whoa I didn't know they were available from the factory. If my car is still in an unscheduled/clean state, would there be a way to change the rims?

Never said they were available from the factory. A Ford Motorsport item. Must be purchased from your favorite Motorsport dealer (Ford Parts Dept.). I called yesterday and pricing is not even available yet. Probably in the $350.00 each range for chrome I would imagine.

Anyone else notice that the backspacing on the bullits is 5.29" (134mm) and (from what I've been reading) the backspacing on the upgraded wheels is 6.2" (159mm)?

tmcolegr- can you be a bit more specific on where to find those wheels on the website, or post a link? I can't find it myself.

Actually, I don't think they're chromed. They're polished aluminum. Hard to get information on them - it's as though they're not really available yet...

oops, my bad - there is a chrome Bullitt wheel in the Racing Parts catalog. The Mustang sales brochure only shows the polished Bullitt, and that's what I thought was being discussed.

Bruce....If the spinners on these wheels are also press fit, instead of screwed in from back of wheel, then you're better off not getting them at all. B) Unless of course you want to be replacing them all the time because of theft.....

Got a price from my dealer.
He told me to order the upgrade machine wheels. The dealership would give me $280.00 credit on them and the chrome Bullitts would cost me $533.80. $814.00 if you do the math.

Mike, did they quote a price on the polished aluminum bullitts?

I specifically asked for a quote on the chrome.
You know how some salesmen are.
I have it in an email from him, so I am going to hold him to it.

Mike I'm not questioning what your salesman told you about the price of the wheels, but $814.00 per set just doesn't sound correct. I called every dealer that was open yesterday and none even had pricing on the chrome bullitt wheel yet. $203.50 per chrome wheel would be a steal. The black wheels and silver wheels are $165.00 (list price from Ford Racing) each and the polished wheels are $219.00 (list price from Ford Racing) each. Unlikely the chrome wheel would be less than the polished wheel. If you have ever bought wheels from Ford before we all know they bend you over till it hurts. However, if you got that price in writing make him stick to it. It seems odd that he would offer you more credit ($280.00) for the wheels than the option originally cost ($195.00) you. Most salesmen don't even know what you're talking about when you ask for an optional bullitt wheel and send you out the door. They are too lazy to make a phone call even to their own parts department. Good luck I hope you get them for that price.
