Does anybody know the size of the 3 stripes (and gaps between) of the GT 500 (I think it's the 1970 model year). I want to use that stripe set on my 05 GT and I'm looking to see what those stripe measurements were. I think it was on the super snake. (did a search on "stripe measurements" with no luck).. I'm thinking about a 10" mid stripe and about 1 inch between the two 2" stripes on each side. Just a guess from looking at pics.

Not sure but make sure you post the pictures when you get them.

I am shooting for torch red with white stripes.

Here is a thread with some pictures. I think there are some measurements sprinkled thru-out the thread. It also has a name and contact info to order a set.

The wide stripes going over the hood are 10 3/4" wide with a 1" gap in between them. I just cut my vinyl this morning. If only my car was here so I could install them :bang:

Kluski and adrenalin, I don't think those are the stripes harlebyill was asking about.

If you mean 3 hood stripes, it's more like the ones on the 1970 Boss 302 ??

These are exactly the type of stripes I was looking at. They are also on the 67 shelby GT 500 (from a picture that I saw).. Your exactly correct, I want to have a starting point and then check to see how they will look on the new body style...Vinyl is not an option (per the vinyl guy---he said too many seams on the 3 stripe setup).... I don't like the size of the stripes I have seen so far (just don't look quite right on the rear ends--looks to fat or something)...Anyway, hopefully somebody that may have had or has one of the old ones can get a measurement...Thanks to all.

Actually, they're 10 1/2".

The original 65-68 Shelby stripes were only 10 1/2" at the bottom and top of the windshield. Then they tapered off from there. Down to 9 1/4" at the bottom of the front valance and 10" at the bottom of the rear valance.

Bill,
Take a look at the TIMELINE on this website. It's at the top of the page. Pictures of almost every variation of the Mustang. Lots of pics of the 67 Shelby and the 70 Boss in that pic.
The original 67 Shelby GT500 had dealer installed stripes. The two wide LeMans racing stripes described above.
