Anthracite fuel/gas door?
Anthracite fuel/gas door?
OK, so I've searched some thread and am coming up empty...
Trying to find an anthracite / gunmetal kind of brushed fuel door.
Not chrome, not billet, and not black. I've got a tungsten GT and I'm looking for something just a little bit different in color but not too "blingy."
Anyone ever see such a beast?
TIA

Thanks Poco.
any pics more focused on that item?
It looks more brushed that I was leaning toward. I think I am hoping to find something more dull and perhaps slightly darker, so it will blend with the tungsten color.
thanks

Maybe. I'm not certain, but that appears awful shiny. I have in my mind a more flat appearance, very similar to that on the anthracite bullit wheels which ford has been using since 1947 on these cars.
Maybe anthractire is the wrong description, but the above appears, to me at least, more "blingy" than what I am thinking.
I don't want a big round chrome looking emblom. I am looking for something much more subtle and subdued appearing, perhaps so that it may not even be immediately obvious.
But that does look like a nice piece, just not seemingly what I have in mind.

Actually, that's our brushed and clear anodized finish. The only way to go "darker" with aluminum is 1) media blasting followed by anodizing, or 2)coloring your anodize to spec.
#1 isn't too expensive.
#2 gets expensive because it's a one-off deal - you'd be better off at that point just having one of our parts painted to the anthracite color (or maybe something like Alloy grey).
I'd post a picture of this, but the server is having issues at the moment and I don't have a copy of the Saleen door that we did like this on our website.

I doubt you want a dead on match for the tungsten, as from any distance it will look like you have a damaged door rather then a custom one. Brushed is not nearly as shiny as it looks in some photos, and will look modern and classy. Under most lighting it would hardly jump out off of a tungsten car, more of a toned down accent.
You guys may be right. I don't necessarily want it to blend in, but I don't want it to be glaringly aparent from every angle either. More of an acent than a badge, if that makes sense.
Anyone have pics of a brushed door on a tungsten car???

I just looked at the SHR web site and found some more pics which were not there a few days ago, to my memory at least...
Is this the bruched fuel door? This looks much darker than the other pics and very close to what I was envisioning...
Any other pics of this?

I also found this pic on a link.

No, the one you've got a link to there is a black anodized part, it's just the lighting and the fact that everything behind it is deep black and black anodized is a "satin" finish.
The brushed piece is pretty subdued as far as finishes go, but it is not flat like a media blast finish would be.
On the other brand parts mentioned, "some" of them might be on our website under the "why choose SHR" page - you might want to look a the differences before plopping down your coin on them. There's a reason Saleen has us make the doors for the PJ and now the Heritage models as well. Just a thought...

Marcello:
Thanks for your help on this.
Do you have any pics of a brushed flat finish fuel door installed on a car to provide a good gauge on the finish. The lighting in these close-up shots seems that it can change the appearance so much, that I am still not certain how the billet finish looks...
I just want to be pretty sure before I throw down $1XX for the piece.
Thanks
