For all you surfers out there!

Hey Peeps.....
Finally got an RF keypad for my stang so I don't have to take my key into the water with me. This has a few advantages....no need to worry about ruining the key in the salt water...also don't have to worry about losing your key if you have it in the arm pocket or leg pocket of your wetsuit and you lose either your arm or leg to one of these incidents!
I was in the water about an hour before this guy got attacked, I had left the beach and got a call from family to make sure I was ok when they heard about it. Rule #1 with surfing, always surf with someone who paddles slower than you!

Here is a pic of where I mounted it. It works great!
Thanks KC!

They stick out too much. But an awesome thing to have. Had one on my last car got use to it after 10 years. But I have gotton into a car using them just running my fingers all across it hitting random #'s Kinda scares me.

If you have 1/4 window louvers I would stick one behind a louver if it fits.

Kevin Casey tracked it down for me. I have had a bunch of other mustang owners approach me and inquire how i got my stang with one...it is great to watch their face when I tell them I installed it. It actually was as easy as cleaning the area with the supplied alcohol pad and pressing it on there after it dryed. Took all of 5 mins. Programming was easy, turn your key from off to run (not start) 8 times within 10 seconds and then you touch a couple of buttons on the keypad, then push a button on each of your other FOB's and oua laa its done~!

I can't believe you did that to a Mustang. Shame on you. I guess you left the key in the car just waiting for someone to break the window and take it while you were swimming or checking out hot chicks. Right??

Been thinking about that too. (I've only owned older "beach mobiles") I guess you really can't take those "chipped" keys in the water. That sucks. But yeah, if you still have the keys in the car, and a thief finds it... Has anyone considered just cutting a "normal" blank just to open the doors (somehow hiding the keys somewhere in the car...)? It seems to be a cheaper and "cleaner" solution than a keypad even if it has the same shortcomings and lacks the "wow" factor.
Try surf shorts (maybe not in your case) with a keyloop or a leash (unless you surf w/out - I'm not worthy!) with a key pocket - that's what I use. Plus if "the man in the grey suit" takes a "taste", worrying about your keys and getting into your car should be the least of your worries.

I had "normal blank" keys cut , and that's what I stash outside the car in a magnetic holder. I keep one of my "chipped keys" well hid inside ...

Great idea, Dave. I didn't realize those were RF. I assume that means you can put it just about anywhere it'll stick.

BTW, how much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking.
