Thumbs up

Pondering some Mustang ideas and had a couple of questions:

1. Has anyone done/tried doing an '05-06 up with 1971 Mach1 Striping? if so could you post a picture or two

2. Does anyone know where you can get diagrams detailing the stripe patterns for Mustangs?

thanks folks

Strickland, you can get the original dimensions for old stang stripe in any classic mustang catalog like NPD (national Parts depot). for pics of how all the old stangs looked with stripe packages, you can check out the timeline above in TMS and there are pics of just about every kind of classic stang.

for pics of 2005 with different stripe try www.bobwhitedecals.com, i think that is the web site.

Thanks for the info

I'm more looking for pictures of a '05 with the '71 stripes. Seems most folks are concentration on the 65-70 striping... just curious what the '71 Mach 1 striping would look like on a '05.

Neither of those are look much at all like a '71 Mach 1

This is what I'm talking about....

Thought the more I look at it the more I think the hockey stick stripe wouldn't look so good on the '05 Stang...

I love the '71 Mach stripes, but I don't see how they would fit on an '05. They start low, in front of the front wheel, come up a little, then tapers all the way back to the rear bumper. The neatest effect is the area in the front, and the '05 just doesn't have enough room in front of the front wheel, IMO. I'd love to see someone do it and add one of the '71 Mach 1 hoods that Fang Performance is working on for the '05. That'd be sweet if it could be pulled off.

Jim: You're right... the more I'm look at the '05 the less chance I see of the '71 hockey sticks on it.

You could always go for the 69/70/03 like I did. Check out my pics and click on my car domain link in post.

I went with more of the twister style stripes. It's similar to what you are looking for. I had actually found a pic where someone had photoshopped them on and liked them. Here's a pic. It's relatively old now as I've tinted my windows and have the CDC shaker on it.[attachmentid=31102] If you need more pics I can email them to you. As far as the size goes I just gave my painter a picture and he taped them on where the looked best. Not sure he ever got out a tape.
