69 Style hood blackout ?

Hello ,
It's been a few years since I've posted, the car is sitting on jacks in the garage, just about 5,000 miles on it. Got married, moved, had a baby ( She's two now), and finally thinking about the Stang again. I've got the Fang 69/70 style Shaker hood, with the 1970 style paint scheme. I'm thinking of changing to the large flat black 1969 Mach One style, and I wonder if anyone has pictures of this type hood scheme on a black S-197 ?
Thanks for any help,
Keep 'em rolling !
DanG

Thanks, every bit helps. I'm really thinking of doing it over with flat black on my gloss black hood...

Black on black is cool. I have seen several Shelby style stripes black on black but no '69 Mach 1 style yet. Surely someone could photoshop you an example. Good luck with your car.

Thanks, that is exactly what I'm thinking of doing. What type/brand of paint did you use for the matte finish ? How's it holding up ?
Thanks,
DanG

It is a decal, not paint. The guy who does striping for a lot of dealers in the area did it for me. Not a kit, he gets the material and does it himself. He did say this might be
the only one he ever does due to the angles on the hood, had lot of trouble getting
it to lay smooth with no bubbles, but came out great. It has been on the car since
Sept 09 and no issues at all, is currently in CA with daughter. I did treat it with NXT
wax, no streaks, no fading....

Good luck whatever you decide.

That looks great! If you don't mind my asking, about how much did that set you back?
Respectfully,
Fritz

Would you believe only $200, did the hood and the rear panel between
the taillights................. but with the difficulty he said if he ever did
another would run $6-700........... guy does great work, this took him
all day, actually did hood twice cuz he didn't like it the 1st time.

If had been 1-piece, I would have been all over it when it was released. Looks good from a distance, but has a noticeable seam down the center.
