1970 Mach 1 Stripe

Ok i might be getting the GT/CS hood scoop for my car and i always wanted the flat/matte black hood stripe that wraps around the scoop and goes straight down to the edge of the hood. I need to know if anyone has the specs on the original size of the stripe or if anyone has done this to their own car and can give me the size

this is the stripe i am talking about

Graphic Express has 2 stripe options:

1. Shaker stripe (vinyl): http://graphic-express.com/k175-s8-s...ood_stripe.asp

2. Shaker paint stencil (much better, but needs painting): http://graphic-express.com/k165-s8-s...nt_stencil.asp

Or you could try the "hood superstripe" from Baltimore Street Mods (not quite what you're looking for, but it might look good with the hood scoop): http://www.baltimorestreetmods.com/i...products_id=16

Maybe you can ask Graphic Express directly about the size of their paint stencil, that one appears to be the best fit for the shaker scoop. But if you plan to install the GT/CS scoop, it's a different size than the shaker.

Your best bet would be to have the stripe either custom cut or painted after you install the GT/CS hood scoop.

yeah i am going to paint it on that is why i am looking for the size cause the guy that is going to paint the car can do it he just needs the specs of either the original stripe from 1970 or something new

*add on*

WOW that mach 1 stripe from RG is what i am looking for, does not look like a big gap between the side and main stripe and the 281 part is what i wanted, now just to get the sizes back from them, and i asked if they could make it to the length i want, if they can then i might just order a decal from them in the same color as my side stripes or the flat black

PS: the reason i want it painted is because there is a bad ding in my hood and it cracked the paint so they said the only way to fix it and make my the hood look like new is to repaint the whole hood so might as well get the stripe painted aswell

I'm having mine painted on next Monday. I don't have the specs but I'm sure they're out there.

Good luck!
