18X10 Bullitts w/stock 17 fronts

I got a deal on a couple of american muscle 18X10 bullitts and they are a pretty close match to the stock 17s. I was wondering if anyone has run this before and if there is anything I need to know. The second question is I found that Pirelli makes a 255/45/18 pzero nero that matches the stock front tires, Their site says they will work on a 10' rim.

Does this sound do-able?

Thanks.

Why don't you want to run a wider tire on the 10'' wide rims?

I was trying to find a tire that matched the stock fronts and keep the same overall height. I dont think Pirelli makes a 285/40 .

I've been running 18X10s in back and 17X8s in front for a couple of years. But I am running a helluva lot more tire than what you are talking about using.

I've been running 18s out back with 17s up front for about 2 years. 295s in back and 245s in front. I like the stance - good luck.

Can a 255 even be stretched to fit a 10" wheel? Does not sound very safe to me!

According to Tirerack's spec sheet, the range for that tire is a 8-10" rim.

Actually now that I think about it, a 10" wheel is only 1" wider than the 9" front wheels I run with a 255/45/18, but it would look funny IMO with sidewalls all stretched out that extra inch.
