In trying to make my own Terlingua replica, I want to get custom wheels that'll fit the stock 17" Pony package Perelli PZero Nero tires. I am on a limited budget to say the least. I found a site that has American Racing Shelby Razor wheels (Available on the authentic Terlingua) for $119/wheel not including shipping. But, it still seems out of reach. I was originally thinking of just finding used GT premium wheels on craigslist. But, they are not distinctive enough for my vision of the project. If anyone has suggestions, please help.

IMHO be proud of what you have & dont junk it up. If you dont have the money to pull off the look do the best with what you have.

Thanks. Yea I have kind of steered away from those 17x9 Razor wheels (no pun intended). The look isn't right with the smaller diameter. I don't know what to consider now. Knowing the the stock diameter means less weight and rolling resistance, really factors into my decision, too. But they need too look right in the 17" size.
I do have some photoshops of some of my considerations...well one atleast...


Or I could repaint the stock rims back to black centers only with a thinner silver rim this time. To make the diameter appear bigger?

 

I'd still shoot for a set of Razors at some point, if you can swing them....only because I think they flow so well with your Terlingua theme. Also, smaller wheels are not always lighter, so be sure to check the weight of the wheels too. However, with that said, larger wheels that are light generally are more expensive.

Of the two options you listed though, I'd have to vote for the 2nd option.

 

Have you consider Mach 1 wheels? That satin finish would really stand out on you tungsten color and Stang.i think they make them in 17's as well.

119/wheel is a **** good price, probably as good as you'll find anywhere.

If that's going to break your bank, you might reconsider spending on that until you have some more cash saved up.

 

Thank you everyone for your input. I really appreciate it. I have considered the Mach 1 style wheels actually. The $119/wheel would right now break the bank pretty much but hopefully the future will look even brighter for my Whinnie.

As for the lighter and bigger wheels thing, yea that is true they are out there, but as you mentioned for a higher price, usually. I know I have plenty of time to figure out wheel choices. I'll be putting on my 16" stock wheels with my four Michelin X-ice tires in a few weeks anyways. I'll keep everyone updated for sure Here's a pic from back in the spring with them on.
