Here's mine, just completed it yesterday (got the parts from KC last Fall but life got in the way...) Did all the paintwork and install myself (pretty good for a professional "computer guy" if I do say so myself...)

A new hood to match (with the "rise" on the leading edge) is already in the works

There's too many to actually list here (for instance the front splitter on the GT500 nose ALONE attaches with 24 bolts and screws of several different types/sizes, and that doesn't count the captive clip nuts most of them thread into)

I STRONGLY recommend PM'ing KC and letting him set you up with the correct original hardware. It's a big job as it is, why make it harder by trying to hack it together with generic hardware?

Vapor GT 500 Conversion

Okay guys, couple of pointers on the conversion that where not mentioned yet... You have to paint the center latch area flat black like the Ford has done on the GT 500's that aren't a dark color, otherwise you will see the hood latch in the grille.

Here's my GT 500 Vapor, it has a real vapor GT 500 hood that came off a super snake conversion. these guys are giving these hoods away for $350-$500 that are factory painted, and have the underside hood liners. You can't beat factory paint. I also didn't like all the vapors with black stripes, so mine is striped with alloy stripes,
and rear has KR style center lettering..

Enjoy.. The whole conversion was less than 5 hours. I had all parts painted at the ford dealer without the car, and they offer lifetime warranty on the paint. These guys handle this parts all day long and are they are perfect as expected.

Looks excellent. Good choice on the stripe color.

I completely agree about painting the crossmember where the hood latch mounts. Looks horrible if you don't (unless the car happens to be black)

Updated photos...final conversion completed.

Here are photos of my final exterior mods with this conversion. Added painted Agent 47 mirrors and I ended up getting slate gray metallic vinyl stripes instead of painting them.....I may end up changing my mind again
Thanks again KC and everyone on this site who helped me through this. I couldn't be happier with the end result.

Your car looks sweet with the straight accross non-Shelby grille opening. I like your turn lamps too! I am tempted to by a set of those to replace my all black...

those with the trufiber hoods, did it come with a heat shield? or is it not necessary?
i'm also not a big fan of the chicken wire, do those come out easily?

hey cw, what hood pins did you use? i got the same trufiber hood, but i want to get hood pins too. could you also post a shot of the hood pins from the engine bay?

for the guys that did the conversion, i have the fogs, the headlights, the grills, the splitter, and the bumper. the splitter and the grills are already attached to the bumper. what do i need to finish the conversion? i've emailed kc before, and he never got back to me, so i'd figure id try you guys here.

I could have Sworn I sent you a Quote on that Stuff. Send me an Email with the Same List as you Have Posted above and I will get Right Back to ya!

Well I'm guessing you have a V6 right? Because I know what parts you need for a V8 and I know for a fact that you need other parts we do not. But I can tell you that you are missing parts like bumper brackit supports, radator cover, fog light wiring harrness, crash pad, and a bunch of nuts and bolts. I'll see if I can get you a pic of the pins sometime this weekend. (Shelby Billit Hood pin kit)
