05-09 LED Sequentials
Just a cool find I thought I would share... pricey though!

Good grief, that's some seriously fast sequencing.
re: more expensive... the reason they don't come with lights is because the three current lights are correct, just the one socket isn't. If the 'regular' kits came with LEDs I bet they would be similarly priced... if not maybe a tad bit more? LED lights aren't cheap, in general. $120 from here, and that's just the first thing I found: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...315x-x18-T.htm
Of course, you could go cheaper, but it might not work as well in the reflector setup...http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...QwAw&scoring=p
$48ish. Still not incredibly cheap, but better price wise... but I bet it's a bright 'hole' and not very spread out in the reflector.
re: use LEDs with regular kits... If it's not based on the lamp's resistance, but a simple timing mechanism (which i bet it is) then yes, it would likely work just fine.

If you look at it blinking you see the pictures jumping around which makes me think someone took 3 pictures and put them in a really fast looping. Just my thoughts!

What LED "bulbs" are those? I have a light out and was thinking of going to LED.

The lights themselves had little processor chips on them for the sequencing. I'm not sure if plugging regular LED's into WEB electrics would work. I'm not saying they won't, but its not something I experimented with either.

You have to be careful switching to an LED light from the standard bulbs. LED's pull quite a bit less current than a standard bulb. That's probably the reason the animation shown is running extremely quickly.
The the voltage and current changes it is possible to damage your wiring. Just like changing over to an HID headlight system, you'll need a resistance capacitor to do it correctly.

Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth, I like the bulbs better. Here's why...I went with sequential tail lights not for the "newness" but rather the retro aspect of them. The way the bulbs "fade" out is part of it, to me.
With that said, the LED's are pretty trick.
However, I have read (I don't remember where) that the LED's will NOT work with the Web Electric harness. It does indeed have to do with the reduced resistance that the LED's have. If the resistance of a regular bulb could be duplicated, the WE harness should be fine. But at that point, wouldn't it be easier to just sell an existing harness and then pick up the LED specific one? It would be to me. I'd rather DRIVE my 'stang than pull it apart and put it back together all the time

If you switch to LEDs, you may have to add loads to trick the flasher into thinking everything is OK. Some aftermarket LED tail light fixtures include loads, others don't. Of course, LED replacement bulbs do not include a load.
However, once you get the load balanced correctly, the flasher will click at the correct speed and the LEDs will sequence nicely with all of our sequential products.
Another issue is with some LED tail light fixtures. The stock Mustang tail lights only have the middle and outer sections function as brake/turn lamps. Some aftermarket LED fixtures also only allow the middle and outer sections to operate. If you try to install ANY sequential system on these types of fixtures, it will not work. That's simply because there is no inside, or #1 lamp function. If you do change to LED fixtures, make sure that all 3 sections operate as brake/turn/tail lights.

Guess this thread was just brought back to life.
I have the Mustang Project kit, here's my pictures, and no it's not worth the price, but is still pretty cool:

They don't flicker, it's the camera and youtube that sometimes show that.
They are specifically designed for sequential use (they have a chase set as well), and avoid the load problems replacement LEDs have with the timing circuits of the traditional bulb-based setups.
They work.

I contacted them about possibly using other LED bulbs with their kit, but it is not possible.

They aren't too bright, and I have tint on the taillights, too. I do have the 3rd brake light CDC add on for the ducktail, though, which helps, and the repeaters in the mirrors.
