You always deny the truth until undeniable proof is presented. THEN you cry and apologize and say you are sorry you hurt everyone. This is standard operating practice these days regarding all indiscretions.

After watching 60 Minutes last night and the news conference this evening I will say he seems to have most of his cards on the table. The phone conversation with McNamee was interesting. Not sure if it added value to the argument. Maybe Clemens should have asked 'harder' for McNamee to tell the truth, but I never heard McNamee say he was in fact telling the truth when Roger did ask.

If he was using so be it, I have too many other important aspects of my life going on to be wrapped up in a baseball player's (or other athlete) life. I consider myself to be a fairly avid sports fan, but not to the point that I worry if someone is shooting up. I wish none of this were true for ALL baseball players, but the facts are out there. And I certainly don't agree that Congress should step into the mix. I love my country, but feel they should be concerned with my pressing issues, not whether or not some persons making millions of dollars used performance enhancing drugs, of HGH.

I watched the 60 Minutes' segment. One item which caught my attention was when Clemens was asked if he would swear he did not consumed HGHs, he answered "swear" not "I swear". The latter is about a position of personal commitment, one he did not take.

As for the recorded telephone conversation, unknown to McKamme, Clemens kept hammering for him "to tell the truth" but never asked the most important question, "why did you lied about injecting me with steroids" specially when McKamme obviously had his guard down and was emotional, a perfect opportunity to take advantage of unless Clemens was concerned what the reply might be. It's been said Clemens's attorney was present during the conversation, it's very likely the attorney controlled Clemens's choice of words which leads to the attorneys' cardinal rules: 1) never ask a question you don't know the answer to, and 2) never open the door to a topic which might compromise or contradict your position.

I'm loving it This could not happen to a better person Roger Clemens is an A-Hole to the 3rd degree! I remember back in 96' I had tickets right near the dugout and handed him a ball to sign for me (was 14 years old at the time) he grabbed it and tossed it onto the field because a kid who grew up loving him wanted to have him sign a ball? Anyways besides that notice how Clemens who kinda sucked his last couple years in Boston started getting good the middle of his first season in Toronto (right around the time he allegedly started taking steroids) Bottom line is like Barry Bonds he would have gotten into the Hall of Fame without cheating but they both got greedy! I hope with all these steroids era players being exposed that Jim Rice can finally get into the Hall.

Ive been working out for a long time now and have alot of friends who do the same. I also have alot of friends who do steroids..so I can tell pretty easily. I was talking about clemens being on crank long b4 his name ever came up in this.
