It looks like Emmitt has played his last NFL game. He played his high school games not too far from here over in Pensacola.

Although I hated Emmitt's guts (he was a Cowboy! ), I do have great respect for him
He was one heck of a player.

 

Yeah, I didn't care for him much either, he reminded me of how stupid my franchise was. The Minnesota Vikings are directly responsible for the Cowboys success in the 90's when we traded for Herschel Walker. Which is quite possibly the worst trade in NFL history, okay, my team was on the wrong end of the deal. Here is what was traded:

Minnesota got RB Herschel Walker and 4 draft picks(3rd, 5th, and 10th Rnd in 1990 and a 3rd round in 1991)

Dallas got LB Jesse Solomon, LB David Howard, CB Issac Holt and 8 draft picks(1st, 2nd, 6th in 1990, 1st, 2nd in 1991, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd in 1992)

A lot of the draft picks were traded around in later drafts, but a basic summary of the trade, oh and Walker was released in 1992 because he didn't do anything for Minnesota, so after the trade was completed and all draft picks were used, here is what each team had to show from the trade on their roster:

Vikings: WR Jake Reed
Cowboys: RB Emmitt Smith, DT Russell Maryland, CB Kevin Smith, S Darren Woodson, CB Clayton Holmes
