No, Jordan and Pippen couldn't win all those Championships by themselves. Somebody had to rebounds (Rodman and Longley), somebody had to score when Pippen and Jordan were on the bench (Kukoc), and somebody had to come from the bench and score (Harper and Kerr).
None of those guys were there when they won the first three. Rodman was much more valuable than Kukoc was to that team. Kukoc didn't do anything after he left Philly either, so it's not all Larry Brown's fault, Kukoc has a history of injury problems as well.

When Bulls won first 3 titles they had Bill Cartwright, BJ Armstrong, Horace Grant and so on and most of those guys had great career.
When Kukoc left 76ers he was 33 years old. He had pretty good stats in Atlanta Hawks (19.7 pts) and later he was traded to Milwaukee Bucks. He's 37 years old now and you can't expect him to play like he used to.

He actually only averaged about 12 ppg during his time in Atlanta (919 pts in 76 games.) There are a lot better foreign born players in the NBA than Kukoc. Vlade Divac, Dirk Nowitzki, and Steve Nash to name a few.

They may be better than Kukoc, but none of them won NBA title and none of them were coached by Larry Brown (thank God for Divac, for rest of them I couldn't care less).

- Manu Ginobli v. Tayshaun Prince edge Spurs, Prince's length may pose problems for Ginobli but he is just too scrappy, he more or less won the Olympics for Argentina, and is the second best player in this series.
Either way, I'm still rooting for Detroit because of my man Tayshaun.

Yeah, Ginobilli is awesome player. I remember him when he used to play for Kinder in Italy along with Marko Jaric, Predrag Danilovic and Zoran Savic. Kinder had one of the best team in history of European basketball.

Say that again....

Spurs just got spanked in 2 games way worse then they beat the Pistons. GO PISTONS!!!! They even put Darco in and he scored and rebounded. 7 Players in double figures. Lowest all time turnovers in the playoffs (4). Lindsey Hunter with 17 Pts. 31 Pt win. Duncan and Ginobili combine for only 28 pts.

True, true. But Spurs still have home court advantage and they won first 2 games very easily at home.

Spurs in 7.

I think this is the worst NBA finals I have ever seen, through 4 games and not one close game. I haven't watched a 4th qtr of any of the games thus far. College basketball is so much better than this.

One outta five ain't bad!!....well......yes it is.

Doesn't it seem like this always happens. You mention something, then BOOM! Just like when a pitcher has a no hitter going, and whack, a hit. Or if team has shutout it's opponents for the last -- quarters, then touchdown!

Oh well. It still is the worst finals that I've never seen. I actually watched reruns of the 84 Finals on ESPN classic last week. I'd rather watch those than current ones.

man, that was a tough loss. However, this is not foreign territory for the Pistons. They've been down 3 games to 2 and come back to win before. My advice for the spurs is they better close us out quick. If the Pistons win game 6, it's over. Just ask last year's Nets how important it is to win game 6.

I will say one thing, if the spurs do (by some miracle) manage to pull it off, tim duncan should see no part of that MVP trophy. ginobili or horry would clearly be more deserving.

Ahhhhhhh, and I'm a Spurs fan! When they win (no flames needed) Manu will be MVP. Duncan is one of the greatest around but his performance during the majority of the series hasn't been there. He's still great though. Horry had a big game last night (I'm still tired) but Manu has been there almost the whole series.

Okay, if you must flame, go ahead.

Against Nets last year Pistons were home team in Game 7. This year, even if they win Game 6 against Spurs, Spurs still have home court in Game 7.

That's true Red, they did come back home for game 7, but it's all a question of character, if the Pistons manage to win game 6 at San Antonio (where they have a horrible record...like 3-10 since '94), the spurs will need a lot more than crowd support to knock them out. I personally don't think the spurs have it in them to win a game 7 if they lose game 6, but we'll see I guess. Good luck to both teams.

They took out Miami this year in a game 7 on the road.

Also, I wish people would quite talking about Horry just because he got lucky and hit a last second 3 pointer. He isn't even in the top 50 players as far as points per game, whereas 4 of the 5 Pistons starters are in that list.

Surprisingly (at least to me) Duncan is above Ginobili on that list.

Anyway, it's not over yet, and anyone who watches the Pistons regularly knows that they thrive on adversity. I'm not saying they will win, but I think it is very possible. We'll find out tonight.
