If Alabama had taken a knee, Texas might have used its timeouts to get the ball back. 30-21 is not an insurmountable lead with a minute or two remaining on the clock. Texas had already demonstrated a working hurry up offense and an effective on sides kickoff. If Alabama had just handed the ball over, it was well within the realm of possibility for Texas to score a touchdown, recover the kickoff, and score again. Gunning for the final touchdown puts the game more out of reach, and eats up the clock.

If you look at it this way, Alabama's final scoring "drive" demonstrated a respect for the abilities of the Texas offense and special teams.

Hey whiners...If Saban was a truely class less a-hole he would have scored another TD at the end of the game and made it 44-21!!

I've got no problem with it myself. I didn't even give it a second thought.

I wonder how long before Saban gets a better offer this time and bolts.

That's another fine example of class, one to be stamped by Saban.

What is the point to get personal with other members simply for having a different perspective than yours, over someone you don't likely don't even know? This is about Saban's actions not you or other of his fans.

Is it asking too much for a little civility?

Given tacbear's primary profession I would say the probability of him knowing Saban personally is very high. I do know one of his proteges knows Saban quite well.

tacbear's point is also a valid one too; the score could of been 44-21.

He's done the NFL thing so it would have to be another University with a lot deeper pockets. But if the NFL didn't come calling I'm willing to bet he'd still be on the sidelines at LSU.

I don't mean to hurt anyones feelings. I can understand Texas fans being in a uproar if Texas had been kickin' Alabama's butt the whole game and somehow managed to beat Texas by 1 point in the last second of the game. Two great teams played for the Championship, one team was victorious by enough of a margin that you can say they were the better team. Let us enjoy our Championship with out all the "Nick Saban is a a$$, Colt McCoy could have done this or that, etc".

Show the CLASS that the Texas Players and Coaches showed after the game!

I could be wrong, but I think Saban wil stay for another couple of championships.

I agree, tacbear! Unfortunately, not everybody wants to show class! I've had more than a few Aggies here make some smart-*** remark about the Longhorns.

That explains his position and infinite probabilities, figuratively speaking.

No whining here! like I said before, all of those previous posts were my opinion and nothing more and I would have felt the same way about the move if Texas wouldn't have been there. Just not a good move, but hey he's the head coach at a premier program and I'm not, so in the end he can do whatever he wants.

I think saban will hang around Bama for awhile, like everyone else said, he's done the whole NFL thing. His coaching style just does not match up well in the NFL. I could see Bama locking him up for awhile.

And hey Kevin, when the Aggies in my family give me crap about the game, I just say, "how was Shreveport?" haha
