I wouldn't be surprised if he made a return. We'll see.

Go Oilers!

Unless they are messing with Carolina, they have stated that the knee injury is pretty bad, and he'll be out for the series...

I can't see them lying about that.

I'm with Boomer, I can't see them lying about such a serious injury either..Oh well, looks like the Oils, are going down, much in the same way, as the Sabres..Seems like deja-vu, once again..

Yeah, everything I've read says he's out for good. Speaking as a fellow with lousy knees himself, it's real hard to come back from any type of knee injury.

see what don cherry noticed about Carolina...
They've won all 3 of their series on power play goals that were from penalties for throwing the puck over the glass...

SUCH a stupid rule....

Agreed, it is a stupid rule, in which desperately needs to be abolished, it's getting to the point where a player cannot even clear the puck, out of their zone anymore, without being penalized for causing a delay of game..And lets face it, players are not intentionally trying to throw pucks, over the glass..their simply attempting to clear the zone..

Agreed more... I think Cherry mentioned this too, but its no different then when a player intentionally ices the puck or even when a goalie covers the puck when he doesn really need to, they should all have the same penalties, or just do what they did for icing, and make so the team has to stay on...

yeah, its pretty dumb that you get a penalty for shooting it over the glass, you dont get a penalty for icing, so what's the difference?

In all three of those goals they were obviously just trying to clear it.

Edit: I'm pretty slow today.
I would hate to have to stay on if the goalie covers the puck, that's one thing I like so much about playing hockey as opposed to other sports is that you are fairly free to make line changes as much as you want.

I personally like Cherry's suggestion,

If a player shoots the puck over the glass in his own zone, there is a faceoff and no line change allowed for that team

As for the series, my heart is with Edmonton, but my money's with Carolina. They have had a lucky run. Carolina was down against Montreal and Buffalo until both teams ran into injury trouble. It will be hard for the Oilers to come back considering one of their key cogs is hurt.

Yeah, thats a great suggestion....

Not so harsh a penalty for something that is most of the time unintensional.

I can also go along with Cherry's suggestion, at least there would be some kind of fairness involved, and would make far more sense, than the current rule..I mean, what rule will the league end up changing next ?? putting players in the penalty box, for icing the **** puck ?? that's exactly how stupid, this delay of game penalty really is..

After tonights victory I can pretty much start another argument...

The Canes will win the cup, and have been the best hockey team all season long.

Okay let's go, shoot out the rebuttals.

Rebutal #1: Keep it up and you get banned :P

Yes, it seems that the odds are against the oilers, and the Canes will win the cup.
They outplayed/outlasted in the playoffs, and they are a talented team...no one said they weren't.

Best all season long.. Not really, there were other teams in the conference that had more points and better records.
Best team in the playoffs...yeah.
