True. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Certainly Lance has suffered both during his career. There's still a long way to go in the Tour and anything can happen. Let's hope for the best.

No, I haven't ridden since I sold the Klein before moving up here about 2 1/2 years ago. I had planned to buy another one but that was before I was downsized and funds got tight. But I'll get another one, just don't know when it will happen.

Oh man that's gotta hurt emotionally, crashing while wearing the yellow jersey. I feel soooo bad for Zabriske. He has shown he has what it takes to win tough. I wonder how he'll be in the mountains.
Lance and Team Discovery powered to a new TTT record too! A 57.326 kph 35.62 mph record, and an average speed of 55.152 kph (34.27 mph)!!!! That's haulin!!! I can hold 28 mph for a few minutes on the flats, but I'm near my max HR.

Unfortunately I have also done the divorce downsizing thing. It wasn't pretty, but then they never are. You do know why divorces are so expensive? It's because they're worth it.
I could look it up, but the easier way is to ask you. When is the Chico century?

The Chico century is called the "Wildflower 100". It's pretty well supported(lots of food) and they get about 5000 riders or so. Last weekend in April. That gives you a few months to stumble across a terrific deal on a bike. Our lame little paceline from Lincoln can do it in about 6 hours on the saddle. You are welcome to join us if we won't slow you down too much.

Robbie McEwan won the fifth stage.....what got me was the speed he was doing crossing the line 63kph, that's very nearly 40mph. After a day of riding, to be able to pull speed like that out of the bag is impressive.....

Ah yes, the good old days. If Lance lacks anything, it's the charisma and flamboyance that we have seen from some riders in past. I won't hold it against him. What do we have, 17 days left? That's still a long way to go and I can hardly wait to see the first couple of days in the mountains.
Has anybody in this thread been to France? Those people are crazy about cycling, and I mean that in a very postive way. Oh, and the food!!!!!

Italy has always been ,y second choice, but I never had made it past the French border. Tuscany beckons. As do the Cinque Terra. Where did you go, and did your ride in while you were there?
I speak almost fluent French but my Italian is rudimentary at best. That's not why I have stayed in France.
