Having never owned a car with a supercharger, will the whine of the supercharger drown out the grumble of the engine? I love the low grumble of Mustangs and I love the sound of the new Mustangs but will that be lost with the supercharger or will the 450+ hp drown out the supercharger?

Depends on the catback. For the '03 - '04 models, yes it did. I solved that minor nuisance with a Borla Stinger catback.

The whine is addictive !!!!! When you here it you are flat out moving. The boost only comes on at over half throttle so you won't here unless you getting on it pretty good

the twin screws tend to be louder then the roots style eaton that was on the 03/04....but as said unless you romp on it you wont even hear it.....but the good thing about the new cobra is it already has a large displacement twin screw, which is the typical upgrade for the 03/04 cobra.....the eaton max's out at about 15psi when ported and at that speed it makes a lot of heat so it is very ineffecient....this new (whipple) blower with pullley swaps is capable of 20+psi!!! i dont think anyone will need to upgrade this blower! im so glad for decided to use the gt (or very similar) set up for the new cobra....you wont be disappointed

I keep saying this Jay O'Connell told me yesterday production car will not have a twin screw. The maker Lysholm can't make the screws fast enough to use a twin screw on the prodution car

I would have liked a twin screw myself. But there is only one source for the screws and they supple Whipple, Kenneybell and Eaton with the screws

Say it isn't so.

Seems doubtful to me, actually. Why promise us one if they aren't going to give it?

I hope they don't screw us with the screws like they did with the 18"Fans on the concept and junk on the production car. Too bad they show you the "good stuff" and turn around and sell you a poor second since they "can't get supplied fast enough" Why don't they think of these supply issues before they go into production and disappoint us. what if they should you a pre-production vehicle and then came out with a better upgraded production car(never happen) They can really "talk the talk but CAN'T walk the walk". I don't want a junk blower on my new GT500. Come on Ford get with the program.

My 03 cobra has the whine from the factory but I grew to love it and now it has a n exhaust you can hear both and it sounds as good as any song to me. Since mosts people first mods is exhaust on the mustang you shouldnt have a problem if you dont like the sound. Mustangs are great in the fact that you can get an exhaust as loud or quiet as you want without getting a second mortgage.
