I think a lot of people are bitter not just about the IRS, but the attitude that people that want it are snobs/fools or not getting the purity of design, etc. That kind of denial/excuses/ignoring of their points, is probably as frustrating as the disagreement with Ford over not being SEEN as competitive with the rest of the market. (IMHO)

Vote with your wallets. The world won't end either way. My bet is Ford will sell every $36-40K GT500 it makes. Another bet..People who buy one will be happy. Personally, I think this argument is overblown, sort of like arguing about being shot with a M-16 or an AK-47....... Your still dead.

I say give Ford a chance. If this thing rides decent and handles on par with other front engined, V8, 450+ HP rear drive cars that cost the same, then how do we lose. If it rides as good and handles significantly better than a GT, isn't that good enough?

Roughly $10-12K more for a blown, forged, big braked, 6-speed, upgraded suspension, heavy duty rear end, great rubber and wheels, better interior, low volume production optioned out car sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If you need more power and more handling BUY SOMETHING ELSE. But you better be ready to shell out some duckies.

I wondered how long it would be on this site before somebody employed the gun metaphor.
