Just to put facts with facts since alot of people say the GT500 only has 450hp when it will have more since every magazine says more then 450hp. Now wombat do the figures and see if it will be able to keep up with the new Z06 since it will have closer to 500hp or might even have 500hp.

Why don't you reread his post. He said that the GT500 would have to put down 489-516 at the rear wheels to keep up with a Z06. Meaning it would have to have about 575-607 at the flywheel using a 15% loss in the drivetrain.

You totally confuse me with some of your statements iceman. You say the Ford Gt will get smoked by the Z06 yet you say the Shelby GT500 will keep up or take the Z06. That makes no sense IMO. I just dont understand how you think the Shelby is better overall than the Ford GT. I love the Shelby dont get me wrong, and I cant wait until it is out but I am realistic. And as they just said the Z06 HP wasnt rated at the wheels like the Ford GT is. And imagine that, the license plate Eleanor is taken. Wonder why??! Maybe because of the thousands of people who have modded old stangs to look like a fake car in a movie. Work on the punctuation and then we will explain the obvious things to you. Webba the only time i said the new z06 will take on the ford gt is when you add slicks to it know why z06 est 11.5seconds ford GT 11.2 why is it so hard to understand? And i read in a magazine where they got a i think ether a 03or 04 cobra to run low 12s stock and the guy who built the shelby said the shelby is going to out perform the 03 and 04 cobra so in that case that means that people will be getting the shelby to be doing high 11s stock that is how i can say the shelby wont be that far behind the z06.

No one knows if the z06 can keep up with the Ford GT and no one knows if the shelby can keep up with the z06 so it looks like i am as right as you until they actually come out and prove who is wrong and who is right when they go head to head.

If they are both using slicks, why would that be an advantage to the Z06 and not the GT, I would think they would both improve their times by the same amount if both run on slicks.

Think about it logically, the GT500 weighs more than the Corvette Z06. The Z06 will have more horsepower than a GT500. Both of those would indicate that the Z06 will be faster in the quarter mile. End of discussion.

And where do you get the GT500 is going to have more hp they never told how much the GT500 is going to have yet have they? And the car that they tested in the magazine is a concept not the actual production car. Show me proof where the Z06 has more hp then the GT500.

When they actually say the actual hp of the GT500 then you have proof until then you cant say the Z06 will have more then the GT500.

Actually you have that the other way around, until the actual hp of the GT500 is reveiled it is less than the Z06. The Z06 will have 500 hp, the Shelby will have 450+. If the Shelby was going to have more than 500, they would have said 500+.
