Ok, so we are generally a bunch of Mustang people in here.If GM got the styling right and built a Camaro with an LS-7(aluminum 427,500hp.) the game would be ON!Would you go look? Sure you would.
Chev. would need a better power to weight ratio to get an edge as the Shelby is just a pulley kit away from more hp. This is gonna get fun....gear-heads ,rejoice!

I wish that would happen. It looks like GM is quite a few years away from a rear drive platform because they ditched the Zeta chassis, which was the new rear drive platform being developed by Holden because it was going to be too expensive.
The Kappa platform, which is what the Solstice and Saturn Sky are going to be built on, was developed in 2001 and 2002, and only now in June are we going to see the first cars. If they started developing today, they might have a product by 2008. I hate it because I would love to see GM stay in the fight.
On a couple of the Mopar forums I saw that there was a filing by Chrysler to register the Challenger name as a trademark. Could there be a 2 door Challenger based on the current Charger/300 platform? That would be so sweet.
I hate to say it because I've mostly owned GM's over the years but GM lately is always playing catchup.

Why should we be the only lucky snobs?
I'd love to see the Camaro guys griping about waiting lists, IRS, A/Ts, and the $10K dealer AMVs.

¿ Camaro 2008 ?
Nor 2009, 2010, 2011, etc.
1.-The name of the "Camaro" does not belong to GM. ( understand factory of Canada. )
2.-The platform Z - BodyZ - in this life already never, is Dead.
Regards.

If so, it isn't a GM concept. It's a concept commissioned by Popular Hot Rodding magazine for what they think the next Camaro might look like.
Don't believe me? Read the article yourelf:

I've been seeing that "new Camaro to look like first gen F-body" rumor since before the F-body even stopped production. If it's going to happen, it's not going to be soon. Of course if a new GM pony car arrived, I'd go check it out. But based on the last few years of GM's inventory, I already have very low hopes.
Hmm, a Dodge Challenger? Now that might be something to investigate, assuming it had two doors and a proper stickshift...
For now though, the Mustang is the only game in town for guys like me. And it's a great game, too.

The problem lies in the fact that GM had an agreement with the plant that made the Camaro. Part of the agreement of closing the plant was that the Camaro could me made nowhere but that plant.

The same article referenced above has all the details.
