Shelby cs6
Shelby cs6
Have seen very little if any information going around on the Shelby CS6 and was just wondering why. I realize due to it's lack of v8 power it really tends to not appeal to most mustang fans but it is a shelby and possibly the closest thing we will find to a gt350. I realize the fact that its basically peaked out performance wise is a huge downer but realizing that I can't own a gt500 and always wanting a piece of shelby history makes me really consider this car. Opinions? Feedback? Would you buy it?
Because the CS-6 makes no sense.
How about for starters the CS6 is not in production?
You can order a complete CS6 upgrade kit for $15,000 with a promised delivery of 12 weeks.
Then you have to add painting the unpainted hood & other body parts, so add another $5,000 for a good paint job ad stripe installation.
If you're not installing all the parts yourself, exhaust, brakes, suspension, 8.8" rear end, body parts, etc. figure another $5K.
So take your $25K loaded V6, add $25K for your installed CS6 upgrade kit and you have a 350 HP V6 without any warranty.
For $50K you'd be better off buying a 400+ HP Roush or Saleen if not a 500 HP GT-500 all of which carry warranties.

I don't quite get the reason for the pumped-up V6 with only a 50+ hp advantage over the V8 and an almost $10k higher price tag. Think of what you could do to a GT for that. Now, if the V6 was AL and had a weight advantage, that might be something, but it weighs in virtually the exact same, if not atick more (with the blower) -- so.... what's the point? TO be different? That isn't always a good thing.
Plus, I seriously doubt it will be much of "history" due to its aftermarket status. I don't think of it as anything near a GT350 (or any historic Shelby for that matter). It is just an aftermarket package -- nothing more.
But, if you like it, that is all that matters. I say go for it. Heck, put the front fascia/grill on a V8 and start building a better car for cheaper!

Excellent points that was basically what I wanted was just curious I'm planning on doing the GT and basically building my own using many of the cs6/hertz parts. I was just wondering why no one ever considered it and yall totally right because it simply does not make sense.
I think this car was made so you can see all the parts they have available for both the V8 and V6 market. I don't think anyone in their right mind would order a V6 for close to 50K (although I wouldn't think anyone in their right mind would be willing to pay 10-20K over sticker for a Cobra, and yet there are people like that)
