Is it a 2 piece like the GT? If so it seems like guys are breaking them with slightly modified power, thus will this hold up to the 475 hp Shelby? Thoughts.

Interesting, I dont think this topic has been covered. I'd like to see what SVT did to make the driveshaft GT500 compatible. (tq wise)

I scoured the press kit. No mention of driveshaft design or material.

I don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it's a 2-piece driveshaft.
It is a fast car and critical speeds can cause a one piece to bow and possibly break, so rather than increasing diameter it is safe to use a 2-piece with less diameter.
The one piece driveshaft on the V6 is quite hefty.
Another thing to know is that 68" is the maximum practical length that a driveshaft can be. At that point and over, 2 or more piece is required.
I don't think the GT500 is that long, but I do think the critical speed makes a 2-piece neccesary.

Unless something under the car requires it to be a 2 piece, I would think 1 is better. The wheelbase is 107 on these cars and a NHRA prostock is 105 max I think. They run 1 . With 475 hp as a starting point I would think these cars with mods will be in the mid 500 to 600 hp range in a hurry. And the car is heavy at launch also.
