Questions for Carroll Shelby and Hau Thai-Tang?
oh and just for kicks, could you ask Mr. Shelby which he prefers, the NEW GT500, or the older ones?
i know, no real point to my question, but i thought id ask anywho lol
also, we know that the mustang was designed for something like CDCs glassback glass roof panel right? i mean seeing the cutaway photos, its pretty obvious that they planned for it. do you think we'll ever see a glass roof from the factory? like the concept car? maybe as an SE (i know, no SE Qs) or as an option?
lastly... what made them choose that icky new hood over the conceptual hood? i liked that first one better, and i was wondering why they changed it

Brad,
I have so many questions about the SVT line but you seem already pretty indundated with some great questions.
So Brad if you would be so kind, would you just tell Hau and Carroll...
"Thank you for building vehicles I can get so excited about and doing all of us Ford employees proud."

Thanks,
Andy

I'm not sure. Last time there were 10 of us:
- Carroll Shelby
- Hau Thai-Tang
- SVT Chief Engineer Jay O'Connell
- Former SVT Director of Marketing George Ayers
- SVT Brand Manager Tom Jones
- Former SVT Communications Director Alan Hall
- Primedia's Jim Campisano
- Primedia's Evan Smith
- Josh Bolger representing The Mustang Club of America
- Yours Truly
part of the reason the lightning got pushed back was because roushe wanted to try his hand at selling souped up f150's. The other considerations were cost, weight, and time because of the new mustang.
I would like to know if production of the shelby will be slated into and past 2009 my and what will production numbers be both coupe and vert. And let me tell you from one enthusiast to another I honestly wish I could be there because thats going to be a once in a lifetime experience. Oh and tell Evan hi and I will see him at hooters in orlando. Tell him I don't have a set of tires for him to burn off this year but I look forward to seeing him.

I would just like to tell HTT....Outstanding work on the S197 and his other works of art, and Thanks to Carrol Shelby for many years of AWESOME. Aside from that, I noticed some similarities in things done on the '05&'06 as aposed to the '66.
Take for instance: IRS is, was, and always will be expensive. In 1966 they wanted to put IRS on the GT model and Europian T-5 Mustangs, but it was to pricey....same as today. Forget about it on any Mustang priced below 40grand, BUT....Will SVT offer a aftermarket IRS for the S197 even though the car handles superbly with a live axel? And why did the speedometer differ in top speed from 150mph in the '04 and 140mph in the '05. Was it because they wanted the new bezel to resemble the 1966 GT so much?
If resembling the '66 was the case, then I sure am glad that they over looked the BENCH SEAT.
Thanks & have a Happy New Year!!!

Alot of these questions come down to Money, all these questions about crazy engine combos is simply not cost effective, so it would never get built. The one question i would ask, is how much involvement did shelby really have with this car. I personally dont like his name on it. Yes i think he did a lot for the automotive world, but this is an SVT thing and the mustang has always been a Cobra. In my eyes its a mustang cobra, not all this gt500 marketing junk. I dont want the stripes, i dont want the shelby name, cause all its going to do is mark the price up even more.
The other question is weight and why.

How about a tech question for Thai regrading the S197s already produced?
Is he aware of and will there be an official fix for that loud 'takka-takka-takka' sound the engine makes (that many others have mentioned on here as well) that makes the Stang's 4.6 sound more like a truck engine that the engine of Ford's muscle car?
[my brother and I have brought both our cars to our nearby dealership and they said it did NOT qualify for the TSB they had out related to the 'engine noise' since the TSb relates to an intermittant noise and this one is all the time. They can not have expected the engine to sound like this all the time - it certainly didn;t when I first bought the car....]
Thanks Brad and have a great time! You da man!

Something I noticed last night. Why does my 2001 Grand Cherokee have more pronounced lateral support than my 2005 Mustang GT.
I say more pronouced because I am not sure if the seats are actually more supportive.

Ask HTT what he thinks of the impending competition (Challenger, et. al.) and what he plans to do about it to keep the Mustang competitive. Not just on the hp front (which they typically lag anyway), but the ride/comfort/IRS front as well.

Brad, I hope you have a good night with them and hopefully they answer all the questions you get a chance to ask.
[COLOR=blue]Will there ever be a revitalizing of the NHRA Pro Stock program? GM and Mopar have breathed new life into their programs with a new engine block and cylinder heads. Will Ford ever return to the glory days when Bob Glidden championed the blue oval?
