Production GT500 with stripes wont have shelby!
Yeah your right wakerider that is true but it would be fun just to see who wants the letters on the back and who doesnt. You know what i think they need to do is put some lights in the middle of the grill like the Gt mustangs have but not that far apart closer in i think that would look really good its to dull in the front the way it is in my opinion.

Sorry, but those dudes at MPH magazine don't know a Shelby from a Sikorsky. Rest assured, the Shelby letters - in one form or another - will be on the back.

On another note, the current issue of Automobile magazine is now claiming that the Shelby interior may very well NOT be swathed in the leather that adorned the New York show car.
That's right, Ford, back to your time-worn bait-and-switch antics. Cheap out on any more features in this car and I'll stick with an import.

I agree with you Robert, the same old Ford "bait and switch routine". I was ready for the GT to look like the concept(beautiful) but the production model really turns me off. Now I am all lit up again for the GT500 it is more what I like in style. If they switch and go 2nd class I will go for a G35 and save money or a Vette and just make some larger payments. FORD don't cut your throat on this one :nono:
Yea the proto mustang was awesome. The glass roof blew me away and I love the Tungsten color. Theer has been alot of the cars the last few years that look one way and get tweaked for production. At least the mustang still looks great. The GTO looks like a POS now. When the designer makes the proto you would think the money men would say ya or nay before they show it so we dont expect one thing and get another. But like I said the 05 still looks great

I hope it doesnt have it, doesnt match with a modern car even if it is retro styled.

Take a look at high-end sports cars like the new Aston Martins. Leather interiors, dude. There's nothing "retro" about that.
The "Sears Craftsman" interior doesn't belong in any car in this day and age, never mind one at $40K with a $10K "market adjustment."
That's why the imports are destroying Ford in sales - better quality, better buying experience...less cost cutting...less bait & switch...less nonsense.
R.I.P., Ford

Does the GTO count as an import? Those interiors are wonderfull. A lot of leather and even suede on the door panels.
Yeah, the GTO has a great interior - top notch fit and finish. Sadly, the outside (save for the front end) is butt ugly.
And, yeah, I'd call the GTO an import since it's manufactured by Holden in Australia.

Specking of imports i was reading in a magazine that there is a new Evo out and is only being made in the UK and it is called something like FQ wich stands for f8cking quick and it has 405hp and can go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and reach top speeds of 175 has anyone else read about this car i know they have come out with a new Evo but it has nowhere close to 405hp off the lot. If this car was to ever come over here wich it isnt since in the magazine it said the UK is the only place they are going to sell it but if they did build them in the United States shelby owners would be in trouble. And the magazine also said it sells for around 47,000 dollars.

Take off the shelby letters on the back and you can put a big COBRA III decal on the side!

II lover (and hopefully future owner) right here
ok, i know alot of you older guys who were around in the 60s to see the original shelby's are gonna hate me for this, but I kinda dont like the "Shelby" letters in the first place. not b/c they're huge n stufff, cuz it says "shelby" on it. i really like the idea of an "SVT Cobra" to a "shelby Cobra GT500" one is short and sweet, the other is long and painful. personally, im not THAT excited about it being called a Shelby in the first place (dont get me wrong, the car is killer, the name....not so much. its like britney spears changing her name to george bush or something to that extent.) i dont care if MSRP is areound $40K the simple fact that its gonna say "shelby" is gonna drive up markup to the point where it might be cheaper to get a vette. i can feel it (if delers will put $8K+ markup on a V6 who knows what they will do to the top of the line stang)
plus being of a younger generation, kinda like SVT more than Shleby anyhoo. i know, i know
and the like. but i really would rather have a brand new SVT mustang thatn a brand new shelby. im ranting :ranting: again arent i?
