Well, I think the new Saleen looks utterly incredible! But hey, that's why we have choices. I mean, imagine if we were all in love with the same woman!

Some of us like women that are naturally pretty, some like them with tons of makeup and big hair. I personally think Saleens are tons of makeup and big hair (granted, the newer ones aren't as bad as the SN-95 cheese grates with wheels were.)

That's the point I was trying to make. Some like the Saleen, others like the GT500, and still others prefer the base GT or V6.

<sniff sniff>It's a beautiful thing man......

Sat in a LL Saleen at Bob Bell yesterday and the only thing I liked about it was the seats. The are really nice, and feel much more stable than the one in my GT.

I like the Saleen, since it looks SO much like BM's version, but I LOVE the Shelby. It is always better to have multiple choices I would hate for us all to be driving the same style Camaro... oh wait.

the new Saleen looks like crap, and performs like, AND it cant even pass an emmissions test
The GT500 puts Saleen, Roush, Steeda to shame. Matter of fact, I think the regular GT puts them to shame. Those tuner guys have to be p@@@@%% their pants right now. How are they going to try to top the GT500? For less than $40K, no less.

the saleen isnt horrible. just dont like the treatment to make the back even with the bumper. and as far as perfomance. the base model saleen never out performed the gt by much. they have the heavier wheels and body kits to take away the extra 25 hp. and for the emissions test, im sure they got it right before the first production was sent. the motortrend car was probably a preproduction

I like both, but best band for the buck will definitely be the GT500. Plus I think it will turn more heads just because its a Shelby.

The saleen is typical saleen; some people think it is too much or too overdone. The GT500 is simplistic, yet tasteful. In other works the GT500 appeals to a broader age group I think. Plus they left it open for people to mod and add to (such as scoops and such). Either way, I would not complain one bit if someone dropped one at my door.

Its great we have all these different mustang options.

Saleen is the best looking mustang in my opinion
BUT the cobra is the BEST performance for the dollar.

I agree completely, for the $, the Saleen should perform better. I wish it did.

Dont get me wrong, the fact that the Cobra is so amazingly powerful might sway me....but it'll be tough. the Saleen commands so much road presence and its just down right a beast when it rolls past you. At that point, no one is gonna care about the HP or how fast 1/4 mile is!

I am never gonna race my stang anyways....even if i got the cobra. it'll be babied.
If i get my saleen, it'll be babied too. heck! i might get both!!

Waaaa??? These cars were definitely not made to be babied. You needs to run it hard sometimes! It's just my opinion but over 450 horses aren't there for being babied!

I think once these GT500 are on the roads, they will command a very high road presence.

This new GT500 looks significantly different from the standard GT. In fact, it looks a lot closer to the ORIGINAL show car that predates the production version. You can see that the front end is much more "shark like", which is evident with the headlight standup that braces the huge grille. Look carefully, and you will see this piece is at a much sharper angle than the headlight standup on the GT, which is far more vertical. It is why the front bumper on the GT 500 looks so large. The angle of the standup is pulled back radically.

I love it.
