the performance will probably be amazing...but i was hoping for amazing styling.
i wanted to feel the way i did when i first saw eleanor on "gone in 60 sec" or when i first saw the new Saleen.

Based on how the cobra looks, im more impressed with the s/c saleen so far. the Saleen looks so tough and brauny....can't beat it..

The Saleen looks like it has stuff stuck all over it and it's rear end wrapped in tupperware. Just my .02c

At 40K The saleen is like a GT+.

 

The Saleen is a over priced ricer POS.

 

I prefer the "GT500" to the tuner cars... I think Steeda would be my #2 pick.

 

The Saleen looks like a Transformer that wasn't quite put back together all the way. If you have or are close to kids, you know what I am talking about.

I can't belive i just heard......or Read....... that someone thinks the Saleen is a more tasteful and better looking car that the Cobra. Now i'm all for opinions but good god.

no doubt the Cobra will hold value better and will probably be a true collectors car, but i had hoped it had a way more menacing look. way too similar to the regular GT.

Sorry, if you ever saw the Saleen in person, you might know what i am referring to. i saw the saleen side by side with roush and a regular GT. the saleen simply looks amazing.

the ELEANOR from "gone 60 sec." looks WAY more menacing and has a lot more road presence than the new Cobra.

again, the performance will be amazing, but the styling is way off....way too plain jane...

 

oh..and yes...the non s/c Saleen is a GT+ in a way..
its a GT with better handling and bodykit and interior upgrade.

i get a 50/50 response to the saleen. its either LOVE it or Hate it...

Looks is right, the actual 'Eleanor'(s) in gone in 60 had fake side exhausts and relatively weak motors. Computers and phony sound tracks helped it look fast too. No more fake ricer scoops for Mustangs, thank you very much.

 

Its hard to notice them next to each other because they will only be side by side for a fraction of a second

Nonsense. The Saleen looks amazing. One of the best looking Stangs of all time, and far and away the best of all the aftermarket 05 Stangs I've seen.

Calling it POS is plain ignorant.

Now raw performance is another matter. But handling is waaaay past a stock GT, and so is resale value.

 

on a scale of 1 to 10 I give the saleen a 3 on looks and that is only because it looks like a mustang. otherwise I am not a fan of the 2bar taillight with the plastic insert, and the ugly interior with the "normal" style numbers on the gauges.
the GT500 could look a little meaner, but it will definately stop me in traffic to have an admiring stare.

The Saleen is the best looking aftermarket Stang out there right now. The wheels, tire sizes and offsets are absolutely perfect - Ford would have done well to take them as an example of "how" to do it on the new Cobra...

 

I think it's pretty astounding that we're having these arguments about which model Mustang is better looking while f-body is on the outside looking in. They wish they had just one Camaro to talk about.

Oh yeah...almost forgot....I think the GT500 is far and away better looking than the Saleen.
