Mach 1 is coming according to BON !
Its obvious he doesn't know everything, but it was good to hear some positive info about the SE coming from a Ford Rep.
I was surprised to get so much info out of him. The past two years, I've seemed to get a lot out of these guys.
The Rep last year told me about the Shelby right before any real info was released to the public. He got everything right but the name "Shelby". I bet, he was told to keep that part about a new Cobra a secret! He did say 2007 or 2008 for an SE.
So after 12 months, the info seems to be consistant.

Geez...there will only be a "MARK-UP" for a while. They plan on spitting out about 14,000 of these things. After the rabid response dies down ,say 6 months, you'll find them cast aside on E-bay. Stop your "poor me" hand wringing!! If you really want one ,you can have one. The idiots who have to be first will do the overpaying. As proof look at the price of Ford GT ...you can get them for list or less with 500 miles on 'em. Besides, the later production cars end up with better build quality anyway.

Watch your mouth. I have a deposit on the Shelby. Do you even own a car or old enough to drive?
One of the IDIOTS said that!!!

California Special... was it really that cool back then?
Was it really that cool back then? do you forget that you could still order it with a 428? and it had some beautifull shelby styling.

I've seen nothing new on the Mach1 since BON posted that article in December (about Roush testing prototypes). One would think that Ford has something new and special planned for MY08.
Will it be a Boss, a Bullitt, or a Mach? Inquiring minds want to know.

Someone on IMBOC (Bullitt Club) forums posted they had talked to a Ford engineer who said they had a Bullitt prototype (would assume styling pieces only). However, there is no approved program yet. My guess is that whether it's a Mach, Bullitt, Boss, or something else, we won't hear anything for at least another 12-18 months.
That might coincide with the timing of the Dodge Challenger, now speculated to be a 2008 1/2 model year vehicle.

I would love to be wrong on the timing too. Considering it took 24 months for the GT500 to come to fruition, the 2008 model year is at least 12-14 months away, and that Ford is most likely holding those development $$ tightly, I don't see how they could do it faster (unless they don't mess with the engine).
In the meantime, how about a nice Saleen/Parnelli Jones edition to tide you over?

Saleen PJ: Nice looking car but unwilling to pay that much. Mid 30's is my top end.
Brad broke the story of the California special on 3 March 05, http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showpo...43&postcount=1
So that was about 15-16 months prior to production.
I hoping someone will soon announce the next special edition that will arrive in summer 07.
