I actually like that little trim piece that the Saleen has on the quarter window instead of the louvers. I think there is going to be plenty of stuff to mix and match once all this stuff is available.

A couple of questions, is the trunk open on the red GT or is that how the Ducktail sits, and has MRT given a price yet on their Ducktail & Louvers?

You'd have to get body-colored ones. I know MRT's will resemble the 1965-1966 fastback. Westrenz is developing Shelby-style quarter-window scoops, but you'd have a heck of a time changing lanes.
I've been driving mine for a week and can't see much using the little windows anyway.

I disagree, I have had my 05 for a month now and those little windows make a HUGE difference. There is NO blind spot on the new mustang. The windows go so far back that there is no place where I would not be able to see a car. Adding louvers would look awesome but it would be very hard to see.

Of course, I don't do much city or freeway driving.

Visibility and Side Louvres

Uh, I've had my Sixty-Eight since I was 16 (technically since my dad bought it when I was 4 months old). I never felt I had a blind spot that was that bad on either side. And back then we didn't have the passenger door mirror. You just looked out your back mirror real quick and went over. I can't recall a single close call in lane changes in the car all those years, and I've been driving her for 18 years.

I'll be getting the louvres for the side windows and I'm hoping they are easy to put on and take off, but will stand up to 140 mph or so. If they are an easy mod, then I might buy the scoops as well and fancy a change every once in a while.

I think the people that like the louvre option like the old look of the 67-8 fastbacks.

Mustangracing.com is not loading today for some reason.

westrenz.com apparantly only deal with dealers.

Anyone found louvers any place that will sell them to us without the middle man? As we all know, the dealer will add about 500% markup on anything.

Just got off the phone with MRT and they said the following,

They are in the "Tooling Phase" of the side louvers. They anticipate having them ready for sale by the end of January.

The other items such as the rear spoiler should be done at the first of the year.

Also, I asked them about how the side louvers will attach and they are still waffling on that a bit, trying two options. It sounds as if you will NOT be able to take them on and off quickly if your mood suddently takes you in a direction to have them on or off. They WILL be removeable, however it sounds like they are looking at a mechanical or tape option. Obviously if you had the tape, you'd have to replace the tape each time. They stated that either option they go with will NOT alter your vehicle in any way, other than maybe some sticky goo on the windshield.

All the duck tails lack the third brake light...
This is bad.
... and I would rather not have to relocate it.

I dont understand this obsession with the 3rd brake light. are 3 brake lights required in some states? Here in Illinois they are NOT. I love that ducktail by the way. I just wish i had ordered spoiler delete
