Thumbs up

Got this from SVTPerformance.com

One of its forum members has a website that compares 2 different test mules. Apparently, one of them's running an IRS setup. Thoughts?

Quite interesting and observant! Is there hope the Mustang will be brought fully into the 21st century after all?

Suspensions: A re-engineered, heavy duty IRS will be an option with a modified 3 link/panhard bar-live axle setup as the standard rear axle. SVT will be going for the Road Race buyer as well as the straight line racer with both axles optional. However, the Axle options are not set in stone as of the moment but look highly likely to be approved. The Cobra will be lowered about 1.5" from a stock GT.

Whoa. Where'd you get that info from? It'd be great if that's what they plan to do. Hmm.. I wonder if depending on the split for the first year's 7500, they'll stick to one or the other for the following years.

If they do offer both, that'd be perfect as it would keep both the road rats and the drag queens happy. Is Ford so wise or will they go a more *****rdly (no, not with an "e") tack.

As for a GT 350, that would certainly seem to make sense to me. A bit decontented of luxury fluff from the uber 500, with perhaps a high-winding 4V 4.6, tight 6 spd, IRS and pizza pan brakes for the latter day Boss 302, Shelby GT350 road racers type car for maybe $5K less than the GT 500???

Kinda hoped the 350'd get the 5.4 too. Just without the S/C. Maybe fewer upmarket options inside. But the heart of the car shouldn't change.
