I tried to search to see if other people noticed but on the yellow pre-production prototype it looks as if though the leather wrapped dash & console lid did not make it. Anyone else?

I would be stunned if the leather dash would make it. The dark IUP should though (expected late next year).

I don't understand all the angst over these pre-production test cars. Just because a feature isn't on one of them doesn't necessarily mean it won't make it to production.

The final output rating will be annouced when the production version is unveiled at :

The North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2006.

And very possibly for his sale on April 17, 2006.

HTT went on record as saying, "NO bait and switch" on this car. If they lose the leather, that definitely qualifies as "bait and switch." The cheap hard plastics used in the current car are its only significant shortcoming, IMHO.

The Shelby ought to be a cut above, IMHO.

I agree and that hood on the yellow GT500 is butt ugly . Why even bother painting that hideous thing?

It isn't that they aren't on the pre-pro cars that I don't think it will make production -- it is costs and ease of production issues that lead to me expect them not to make it. Great thing to do on a one-off concept. Much more difficult to do for production.

Well, as I said, HTT went on the record as saying "no bait and switch" on this car, unless I misread it and he actually said, "no, wait and twitch."

I'm less interested in the all-out power (I'd be happy with 390 hp, actually) than I am in the exclusivity of the car - take away the stuff they promised to us and it's not so exclusive anymore, especially not for the $55 - 60K (CDN) MSRP.

Why would they put a leather dash on a "mule" car? Makes no sense to me. Did anyone see the Carroll Shelby video of him driving one of the mules? How come no one said anything about the dash in that car, or the badging, or hood, or the rims, or the rear wing, or........ well, you get the point. These cars are just that, test cars. What was unveiled in New York was the concept car, not a test car.

Lets see what January brings, then we can all cry or rejoice together.
