Would be interesting if they truly do offer 3 optional hoods. It would allow Shelby owners some measure of customization to the car straight from the factory.

The simple solution is for Ford to offer the original hood. The controversy would end and make everyone is happy. If there are issues with vibrations or ventilation it is very likely that some minor modification would solve the problem.

I think so

Possibly always this design was of hood from a beginning

, and in the spectacle they exposed only other one for the advertising and the aesthetics .

Also if you observe well ; the Mustang Falken was bringing it before Autoshow N.Y.

You know, that clay model has always intrigued me. It's the picture first seen in Motor Trend which carried the first glimpse of the GT500.
(Before other variations of the car were seen)

The thing that gets me is that the clay model has the supposed hood and front splitter that will make it into production, and they are both on the same model. The interesting thing is that this car also has side and quarter scoops........ those would be nice, real nice, and make the car appear less v6ish from the side. HMMMMMMM

Hmmm... dont count on it, unless its just two hoods with an option for slap on hood scoops.

The hood on the white mule looks too similar to the hood on the yellow mule. Are they the same?

To be honest, i don't think we'll have a "hood option". What we see in January is what we'll be getting. Get used to the yellow hood fellas.

Wishful thinking. They aren't going to produce many GT500s as it is, you think they are going to tool up to produce 3 different hoods for the car? I would seriously doubt it.

In fact, has Ford ever offered optional hoods? On any car? Maybe a scoop, but even then I don't think so (special edition packages not withstanding as I doubt they are going to make an SE for an SE).

However, this might be a good sign that Ford is listening to everyone in rethinking the hood designs.

I second that as well. I called SVT and they said only one hood would be used . The production hood. They would not confirm the yellow prototype hood was the one they decided on. It seemed to me from the comments made the yellow hood with the bulged air extracters and stripes cut around them was a non issue. Meaning that the production hood would be different. I hope so. In mph-online.com there are spy photos of a white mustang with a flat hood with smaller and angled vents. An improvement over the yellow prototype hood but I would still like something better.

As I stated it would be interesting but I am not holding my breath for it. I would just prefer something different, I'd hate to spend 40K for a car then have to go buy a new hood for it.
