Brad, do you have it on good authority that the price has remained the same (around $40k for the coupe) still?

If so, I can go back to :worship: because we only have to contend with the dealers now.

Most likely Brad knows a lot more than he can share with the TMS members. His sources would not be providing confidential info and tips if he turns around and spills the beans here. We will know soon enough.

We won't know soon enough. Even if Ford reveals a production GT500 at the January car show, they won't reveal price. I quarantee they will say here's the car to go into production and the price will be in the ballpark of $40,000. So we will still be scratching our heads wondering price  . Just look at the Z06. I followed those forums pretty closely. People ordered the car without knowing priceing. Chevy kept putting off the official price until late into the game.

It doesn't make any difference since orders can't be placed yet. Once the order bank is open an order can be placed by setting a price over invoice with the dealer's purchase agreement. The Z06 guys had a notion on a ballpark figure and it is the same with the GT500.

Besides, what's a miserable couple of extra thousand dollars out of your pockets? Someone has to pay Shelby's share.

I would think that with all the ranting & negativity on this board (and numerous others) about HTT's price range statement that this would be one word Ford would like leaked..if the prices aren't heading North. They could be potentially losing sales from this if they do not.... Unless they are actually going up. Then Brad should keep quiet.

BUT...it now says on the thread headline in bold caps: NOTE, NO PRICES HAVE BEEN REVISED, so this is what I was asking Brad about.
If Ford did indeed inform him that the prices were staying about the same, then he would be doing them a favor by letting this fact loose on the frothy masses, and I would think they would appreciate it.

I'm just hoping they keep their word after about 6 months.. Honor the $40,000 MSRP, so I can help support your business.. Thats all I ask.. Thats not asking too much.. Its not like I'm buying another Benz.. Its a Mustang, and should be priced as such..

I mean serioulsy, you could buy a used Benz for about $40G's that will hold its value longer.. This is not to put down the GT500, but whats going to happen is they will introduce a better version of the GT500, or another model which will be better. Its bound to happen..

I sure wish they would anounce another car, like a BOSS 302 or something, so that way there are more choices..

Dude c'mon MSP.

I mean seriously, one doesn't purchase a 470+ hp GT500 with resale value on their mind.

But I'm with you as far as the >$40k and needing more S/Es is concerned.

It's obvious by your statement that either you didn't read my message correctly or you misinterpreted it. No slight was meant towards Brad whatsoever. This was a comment directed at what should be appropriate behavior between a mfr (Ford) and a web-site owner (Brad), and I was citing what I thought is appropriate behavior for different scenarios, that's all.

"keep quiet" as in "maintain peace" perhaps?

Not a chance sport. My reading comprehension is far from being a deficiency. Nice try at side stepping.

BTW, it appears you read my reply correctly and didn't misinterpreted it. You get a cookie.

Yes, this is what I meant. Keep quiet as in maintain the status quo, as he is doing.

And 1 Bullitt: I don't have to sidestep anything, bright eyes.
You are reading way too much into things. Take a 'lude and chill out...

Now, about that cookie...
