Hint at next SE being a Mach 1?
In the November 14th issue of Autoweek on page 19 is a blurb about celebrating the 75th anniversary of the 32 Ford in 2007. A guy by the name of Craig Knight is putting together duece coupes with a motor from GM, Chrysler and Ford. The GM motor will be a 505 hp LS7 Corvette engine, the Chrysler motor will be a 500 hp 6.1 liter Hemi and here is the interesting part the Ford motor will be a 4.6 liter 350 hp Mach 1 V8.
So, the question is, is the mention of the 4.6L 350hp Mach 1 engine referring to the prior Mach 1 or a Mach 1 engine setup to come out in 2007 as a 2008 model?

I suspected from the start it would be a Mach and would be in '07 or '08. This would be really cool. Anyone know, or want to speculate, what will be the difference between the Mach and the standard GT to make those extra 40-50 horses?

How about the 550hp Ford GT engine that beats them all!!

Ford needs to build a non supercharged high performer; the cammer is hopeful but apparently not street legal. Hopefully for the 07,08,09 models we will see SEs powered by naturally aspired 350+ HP motors.
