Final Drive Gear Ratio Question

It says that the final drive gear ration on the Cobra is 3.31. Is that the Ring/Pinion Gear?

If so, why not a 3.73...or higher?

Just hope someone knows... :bang: :bang: :bang:

Engine tuning. It doesn't require high gears with this level of performance. High gears are good when shortchanged on performance, like my old BULLITT.

Exactly what George said. Also running a taller gear on a 400+ rwhp car would be bad on gas mileage and then Ford would have a heck of a time getting it approved through for insurance and CARB certified
