Glad I didn't hold out for the Shelby. Although I would love to have one, I'll enjoy the GT for a couple more years then trade up. Hopefully by then they'll be at or under MSRP.

If you go, just bid what you are willing to pay....if you don't get it, then at least you know you didn't get stiffed. A free dinner and an up close and personal look at the Shelby sounds good to me as a consolation prize.

Question, when you state "Received a message from one of the dealers", how many dealers are you dealing with?

I got a call from my dealer today, I had been put on the 'list' some time ago. They are now accepting deposits and expect an allocation of 6. When asked for an idea of cost, was told 42-43K MSRP and a mark-up of 15K. I told him I'd get back to him. Dealer is in NJ and reputable.

I have had correspondence going with about 5 or 6, and none of the other dealers have responded to anything I have sent, recently.

You guys keep talking about this auction. What auction? The dealer did not describe or mention an auction but rather a one-time sealed bid. That is entirely different from an auction.
