5MPH Bumpers on the front?

Any truth to that, if Ford doesn't change that we won't be seeing the Cobra GT500 in Canada.

Can't see that happening. Just thought I'd ask.

I thought that by '00, the laws required 7 mph bumpers in the states.... I'd call BS on that

All cars have been required to have 5mph bumpers front and back since 74. My Mustang II Mach1 has em'!

As far as i know, and i could be wrong. During my training i was told, that the Federal Standard is 2 1/2 mph, but i could be wrong.

Sorry I musn't have been clear ... In Canada you need 30 .. or is it 50Km/h, 18.75 or 31.25mi per hour rated bumpers respectively. If it is true that the Cobra is getting 5mi/hr then it wouldn't meets standards for Canada.

He also said, "they won't change it .. all 1500 units are sold"

Again, I smell A LOT of BS.

I believe that is correct. At least, that's what the guy from NHTSA said on national TV .

Yes, NHTSA standard is 2.5 MPH, but all Ford products built for sale in the US (and presumably Canada) are rated at 5MPH.

the 05 has 5mph front 2.5mph rear
