Sometimes it's what isn't said that is the most newsworthy, Rob!

The last paragraph has some interesting cues as well.

Meanwhile, Ford is likely to develop other high-performance options. It is expected to expand its ties to Shelby Motors, the tuner firm run by racing legend and longtime Ford consultant Carroll Shelby, as well as Saleen Motors, the California firm best known for its customized Mustang models.
I saw that too. I am very curious as to when that will happen. More than likely so far in the future I will not be able to hold out until then. Oh well, probably too expensive as well. :bang:

The New York Auto Show will probably be at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in Manhattan. It is an awesome venue. I went there a few years ago while living in New York. All I can say is wear comfortable shoes, because the place is immense!

Yaaay! I have been getting tempted by the dark side (as in, 02-04 yellow Z06 Vette ) for awhile now. I will definitely hold off until SVT unveils their plans...

I found this on Edmunds.com. I'm not sure how new it is.

"What Edmunds.com Says: The 2006 SVT Cobra should satisfy even the most extreme performance enthusiasts

What We Know: Ford will be adding the next-generation SVT Cobra to its lineup in 2006 on a limited production basis. The company plans on pulling out all the stops in constructing this Mustang-based monster, with numerous performance enhancements. The engine, which will be augmented by a supercharger, should produce just over 400-horsepower while yielding almost 430-lbs.-ft. of torque. Transmission is manual, of course. The suspension and brakes are said to improve upon the '03 Cobra, and the vehicle will be further tweaked with 18-inch chrome wheels. "

Alot of this is already known, but it's something else to go on. I hope you all like it.

[B]Great news of course. That will be a great way to cheer up about my 40th birthday in 07....With that aside, does anyone think the Shelby will have the same horse power as the Cobra or will it be between the GT and the Cobra?

Now that would be truly disappointing. A supercharged 5.4 should make at least 450.
