2007 Cobra Mule
The guy says "this is the new cobra!" But i really doubt any mustangs gonna come out looking like this. This is just a car that's testing a certain drivetrain that might end up in some mustang. The trailer hitch is on there to really put a strain on the engine, make sure it can handle more than what some idiot might put it through, like towing something heavy up a hill in 100 degree weather.
I think if there's a mustang that gets the 5.4 SC V8 from the GT40, it won't be a $40K Cobra. It'll probably be more like $60K, and i think that's the stang that'll get the shelby name, leaving something else like a NA 5.4 or a SC 4.6 to replace the 2004 Cobra in about the same price range.
Anyways, i'm guessing whatever we do see at NY will look a lot nicer than this, but apparently, it could have a big engine under the hood that needs a little more space.

I think the last pic on the lower left hand side is an engine pic.

I'm starting to believe these pictures are just Fords way of playing with us. First the dude video, and now the pics of the mule. Also the rendering pictures. Nice job of toying with us Hau.

That engine picture is a joke, due to the fact that it's the motor from the 1995 Ford GT90 concept. I don't think we'll be getting a dual quad turbo V12 in a Mustang anytime soon.

Without pics of the engine, it's just that guys word. I'll believe it when we here it from SVT. Nice find though!

Never mind, Shelby Roadster beat me to it. Yeah it's from the GT-90. I just posted that it was b.s. on MustangEvolution.com. I'm StangFever over there.
they arent acting like its BS tho. HA! some actually beleive thats the engine.
now im beginning to doubt the validity of it all.
BTW am i still the only one who likes the popriveted hood and the missing fogs/pony?

The guy went back and edited the post. That engine pic was added yesterday so it now completely contradicts his comments about the engine being from the GT40. Also, the pic of him standing next to the car has been altered to conceal his identiy and the pic of him behind the wheel has been deleted alltogether.
Also gone is the narrative of him mentioning how he guess it's ok to post these pics since his buddy who originally worked for SVT has since left and is currently working for another company.

10-4 nice looking engine though, like the dual intake
My source says that while a Ford GT motor may or may not have found its way into a mule, it will not be the engine that actually powers the cobra. think about it, that motor is WAY too expensive to be dropped into even a 40k car. I think one of those "mules" is not a Cobra mule at all, but a mule for the GT engine program.
I'm sure they're just going to use the 5.4L 3v SOCH like what's in the current F-150s and throw a blower on it... It's very feasible and would be cost effective... take a motor that makes 300 hp, throw an 8 psi screw type blower on it, adding 50% hp, give it a performance tune and whalah.... 450-475 hp at the crank.... easy, simple, cost effective, profitable, and you can keep the car's price in perspective for the target customer base.

So I'm not the smartest guy when it comes to engines. The 5.4 and 4.6 engine produce the same horse power? That's my question.

The 5.4 makes a lot more torque and at lower RPM.
That means the engines are tuned differently.
If a 5.4 finds its way into a Mustang, it will be tuned differently than the way it comes in a F-150.
